I'm sure we could supply Iran with satellite information on their borders, and a couple of Warthog tank-busters could readily deal with a 60 truck convoy. Just give us the word.

Iran has aspirations of regional hegemony, this is of no surprise. The Europeans may end up regretting these deals if push comes to shove in Iran though-unless they are fully prepared to establish oil sanctions.

We must find a way to stop funding our enemies, both abroad and at home.

Drug criminalization inherently funds our enemies, by putting inflated profits in their hands.

It is hard to be in favor of drug legalization because that infers being in favor of its use. However, the tremendous amounts of money generated by drug sales are probably a greater threat to freedom and democracy than drug use. Drug dealers can corrupt entire countries and use them as they please.

Indeed.

Then did you mean that others may infer your favoring use if you favor legalization? Sadly, that's all too true ... even by "others" who should (and very possibly do) know better.

Yes, that is what I meant. There are millions of teetotalers and non drug users right now. But for something to be illegal and then to legalize it, to some that means, "OK, it used to be bad but now it is OK." Not good logic but true psychology.

Two problems with this;
1. Iran take info on their border from our satellitE?!
2. Why would you think we don't have a deal with the warlords doing the smuggling?

And now we find out that the drug war not only funds terrorists, it arms and equips them too!
Drug warriors: behold what you have wrought.

Remember the $43 million the Taliban got for fighting drugs? There was money well spent.

I thought it was $143 million. Whichever figure is corrent, it was US taxpayer money straight from the US government to the Taliban. Gee, I wonder how many flight-school tuitions you can buy with that kind of money?

To what point?
