Wouldn't it be wonderful if there were a Catholic police officer at her bedside who would look the other way while her priest gave her Communion?
it is murder by only your's and some here's definition, you are welcome to it of course but it has no legal meaning....did you know that the people of Florida and the nation polled about 65% or so that they think the tube should be removed.....they are not death worshippers, nor are they all Dems, but they want the feds and courts to stay out of family matters like this.....don't flame me for that, that is what they are saying and I don't think they are all heathens
That is not true about the dying. And, yes, while Easter is the most important day of the year for Catholics, we are not obliged to receive Communion on Easter; we are obliged to receive Communion once a year during Eastertime. Obviously we should receive more often, but it is not a sin to not do so.
It's too late to "feed" her anything. She's basically gone and wouldn't know she was having communion. She'd probably choke to death on it.
Like the thief on the cross next to Jesus, he didn't need communion or Baptism - Jesus said he'd be in paradise too. Jesus doesn't require that of Terri. If faith is present that is ALL she needs.
Prayers for Terri and her family.
Oh I wasn't trying to debate the issue so much as i was trying to deflate any potential disagreements. The thread is about Terri after all as you said...but I wasn't the one who mentioned the transubstatiation issue...it was you!
I never understood why it is such a contentious issue either and I wrote what I wrote to head off any of the more inflammatory comments on both sides of the issue.
I'm sure the Lord will consider Terri as having taken communion, even if Michael doesn't let it happen!
Has she been given last rites? If not, why not?
If she has Last Rites, She is in God's Hands, when was the last time they thought to give her Communion<I am wondering ,did they ever in all these years????
Prayers for Tery ...into thy hands Lord....
Sorry, but you're wrong. It may be something the Church encourages, but it's certainly not a sin not to do so.
Ummmmnnnhhh, CMary, GG is a practicing Canon lawyer who works for a US Diocese.
And? As I recall that doesn't make him infallible under Church doctrine.
