"although her presentation may have been meant as an 'act' or a 'shtick' to entertain by provoking those who disagree, such behavior unfortunately contributes to the growing dark side of our culture -- a disrespect for persons and their sincerely held beliefs."

Look who's talking buddy. You're the one exhibiting disrespect.

"A St. Thomas student who heard Coulter said he understood how her comments could have hurt others."

I'm hurt every time a liberal opens his mouth. Get over it.

There are murderers that also have deeply held beliefs. You can name every deviant in society and make a case that they have deeply held beliefs. I guess one would have to ask the question: What are those deeply held beliefs?

The University President said he is thrilled to announce that Ward Churchill will share his kind and thoughtful remarks next week

Ha! The issues are not that dang complicated. But if they are too stupid to know Ann Coulter's style before they invite her to speak, then I guess I can see why the issues look so complicated to their feeble minds.

Everytime a liberal speaks, a kitten dies.

NOW THAT is "shtick".....but Ann, on the other hand, is deadly serious about libs and their dangerous ideology.

Wow, that's Ann? Best picture I've ever seen of her.

Want to see hateful, go to Google and put 'Ann Coulter' in an image search.

"...a disrespect for persons and their sincerely held beliefs...[sic]"

Where do these people come from? Each and every day that goes by I become more amazed and dumbfounded at what I see going on in our country.

I have yet to see one single American who has not cowered and knelt in reverence before the Evil Demigod of Moral Relativism and his enforcers "Diversity" and "Tolerance".

Has the country just gone crazy? Where are the thinkers?

I can't even find a person who can argue why we should not allow consensual cannibalism in America.

Isn't it revealing that the libs now openly equate sincerity with truth?

"highly complicated....."

I love it when academic types throw that bomb; it's thrown when they cannot respond to some plain-spoken truth. Translated it means, "... you stupid lumpenproletariet simply cannot understand. You are too dense to appreciate the 'nuance' and 'delicacy' of these 'highly complex' issues."

What these idiots don't get is that it is they who have become unable to understand since they have been engaging for years in mental masturbation only with each other and have lost touch totally with reality.

An entire article on Coulter's "hateful speech" but not a single Coulter quote to point to as "hateful."
Coulter quotes? We don't need no stinkin' Coulter quotes!

We have a quote from "A St. Thomas student who heard Coulter" who said that "he understood how her comments could have hurt others."

The shame of that hussy! Saying that "the emperor has no clothes" like that!

</sarcasm>

Your question: "Is this a Catholic School?"

From the St Thomas web site:

"The University of St. Thomas is a Catholic, comprehensive university that fosters a tradition of service to the public and an energetic, thoughtful approach to the challenges of contemporary life."

So, 'Reverend', how would you describe anyone who uses the term 'Little Eichmanns' to describe the WTC victims? A purveyor of 'hate speech'? Or someone exercising his 'academic freedom'?

I think the following portion of his drivel is probably a good catch all for anything he doesn't agree with, a lot of words meaning almost nothing.

"You'd want a kind of intersection between faithfulness and respect and commitment along with intelligent critique and analysis," he said Monday night. "The issues are highly complicated...

Not one single example of hateful speech. Making all of these accusations without any proof is itself hateful.

Exactly. She probably said something along the lines of "George Bush is an OK guy", and libs went apoplectic. Or she might have mentioned that the 9/11 murderers were all Arab Muslims. What a hater! /sarcasm
