Agreed. I'm usually fairly good at figuring things out, but this mess makes no sense at all. It would take repeated viewings to finally put the pieces together, and then you'd probably end up dissapointed.

I don't have a clue who half the main characters are!

It's a (Lord help us !) 6 hour mini-series on NBC.

Plot is murky-barely comprehensible;dialogue is often hard to understand because of "dramatic" voice lowering, and Brit/Irish/Scots accents; but- there is plenty of meaningless action, and revelation of important plot elements in a "Oh,I thought you KNEW that already" fashion.

This,as you might imagine, is why I've been making fun of it for these 4 weeks.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one.

The plot is pretty dumb but still entertaining. Just two more installments to go.

I must agree with you about NBC trying to do someting different. This is the first time we have watched a series in several years. Usually we are watching pay-for-view movies, news, HGTV, or the History Channel.

I will keep watching this as well, simply because although it is hard to follow, it is interesting, which can't be said about much on the networks.

As I mentioned earlier, if you really want interesting yet incomprehensible check out HBO's Carnivale. The first season is on DVD. There's a bit of nudity and language (one of the carnival acts is a peepshow), but it is absolutely fabulous in terms of characters and scenery.

It's a tale of the "Creature of Light" and the "Creature of Darkness" and their doings in the 1930s. One is a simple farmboy who hooks up with a traveling carnival. The other is a preacher.

Perhaps it's a parody of life.

I've always felt that a man would learn and know more in the last twenty seconds of his life than all the years before.
