Well, they forced me into being promoted to Senior Specialist at work (No, I didn't want it. I was a boss once before and didn't care for it; they drafted me) and I haven't been able to do much more than peek in here every now and then. As soon as the original SS gets his new titanium knee well enough, he'll return and I'll be happily demoted back to grunt status.
I did read that you had the uckie-poos earlier this week. Feeling any better?
"That's NOT your frikkin' job!!"
LOL!! I saw your post and had to write this.... Yesterday afternoon, I'm at my sister-in-laws house for mother's day. Having a great day, throwing the football around with my two boys (7 and 4 1/2) and apparently I hadn't throw the same number of passes to the 4 1/2 year old and he decided to have a little temper tantrum. Now it had definitely been a long day but there he went, marching around, kicking, folding his arms, "i'm not your friend" and out of nowhere comes "i don't like this ball anywhere!! (throws the ball) and i hate this FRIKKIN" watch!!!" (and tries to take of his little blues clues watch...)
i stood shocked.... it goes without saying, i don't believe "frikkin" won't be coming out of his mouth anytime soon.... unfortunately, he probably heard it from me, though... oops! have to keep the "frikkin's" down to a minimum, i suppose... is it bad if it took me a second to compose myself because i did find it quite hysterical for about 3-4 seconds and needed to get a smile off my face before turning around to reprimand him???
Suffolk County on LI was a statistical dead heat last November. 49%-49%. Nassau was 51%-48% Kerry-Bush. Take the urbanized areas of Hempstead, Long Beach, Glen Cove and the black areas of Freeport, Roosevelt and New Cassel out of the mix and Nassau would have gone Bush.
LOL! You just wanna be an anonymous toiler, huh? Well, I guess it's a good thing it's not a permanent promotion, hee hee. :) You know, guys like you usually make the best bosses, though!
Yeah, the uckie-poos (lol!) are still hanging around. I suppose I'll feel better in a few more days. I hope so, cuz I have a lot of stuff to get done. I hate being laid so low. :(
Thanks for asking, though. :)
LOL!! My four-year-old very rarely repeats things I'd rather he not say. But you're right: It's hard to not crack up laughing at the way they say it sometimes.
You oughta hear him repeat lines from Mystery Science Theater 3000 shows. Too funny!
Heh! My first experience with management was in the Navy, actually. I made BM3 and was in charge of a dozen E-1s and E-2s.
No matter what any of them did, it was MY fault.
No thanks.
Get well soon.
I'm roaring laughing at your story!!!!
I've been in the same boat with my 6yo daughter!!!
We (semi) solved it when she was about your son's age - quarter fine for "no-no" words......from her or mommy or daddy. We're doing some renovations around the house - her piggy bank is growing by leaps and bounds :)
Same here...fun stuff, management. (Bleech)
Thanks for the get well wishes. :)
HA! When my nephew, who is my older son's age was about 3 yrs. old (now this kid is damn near genius type smart and has a really high voice and a lisp when he gets angry, right?) was having a bit of a tantrum at my mother's house and my sister-in-law was FED UP? She's trying to get them ready to leave, but you know, there at grammy's house, right? They don't want to go.... So after putting up with this little tantrum for about a good three minutes, she leans down in a wagging her finger at him stance and says "ETHAN, YOU RESPECT YOUR MOTHER!!!" Without missing a beat, he looks at her dead in the eyes and says "MUMMY, YOU WEETHPECT YOUR THUN!!!!
Randall, you had about six adults, including my sister-in-law turning toward the wall busting a gut laughing and trying not to show it... HYSTERICAL!!! : )
ROTFLMAO!!
Your conversation is far more interesting - and hilariously funny - than dealing with more mind-numbing idiocy coming from the control freak nannies :)
I guess we are being bad boys not sticking to the topic, huh? hehehehe
There are appropriate topics which just cry out for off topic musings..........this is one of them :)
You absolutely speak the truth, Gabz.... : )
"We're doing some renovations around the house..."
Is she paying for them with her no-no money???? LOL!
I'm SO glad. And think of the money you are saving! It never ceases to amaze me.
Well, voting any other way is like voting for Ross Perot. He gets "some" votes but not enough to win an election.
We are caught between a rock and a hard spot!
(If you aren't a conservative, aren't you on the wrong forum????)
At the rate we're going we're going to need her no-no money to pay for materials !!!!!!
Ha! I was always advised to add a month and 5K to any quote for a decent size renovation job to cover, you know "Hey, it just came up, mista'...." type stuff... :)
