There is some background information in this NRO article.
I am chagrinned ... no wait, that is ####-eating grinned. My mistake. Besides, I was referring to Senator Harry Reid ... who is this Honorable Gentleman from Nevada you're talking about? :)
Unfortunately, Bob Barr is no longer with us...I believe he would have stepped up to the plate...
Somebody had to break the law because if Reid himself didn't see the file (which would be illegal) then someone had to tell him about it's content (which would be illegal).
Unless he is just plain lying which would be unethical.
In any case I think we need a committee to investigate, a mans name has been irreparably damaged.
I know many people want the repubs to ramrod, trash and burn, but somehow I think it is different now...There is a clear stratagy that has been working for almost TEN years to not only keep repubs in power, but gain more seats...The dems look so bad right now it is going to be a LONG time before AND if they ever recover.
Yes, the time will come when repubs HAVE to show some guts, (can you say nuclear option, or 69 fillibuster), but so far everything is working fine.
Guts does not always equate to ramroding legislation!
LOL!! Where's Laz when you need a hilarious, insightful comment?
I think I meant "86" the fillibuster or nix it!
Reid's stock in trade is to look like Casper Milquetoast, white-haired, bespectacled, butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. He's Uriah Heep and worse.
They are at major disadvantage, because the whole MSM is working for the Demo'rats and against the GPO. It's very hard to get your own message out affectively in those circumstances.

"Well DemocRATS don't release FBI files, they smuggle them home in their pants"
OR HRC's PANTSUITS
Ewhhhh!
Half of the White House staff under Clinton were unable to be vetted by the Secret Service due to drug and other problems. Not one person's name was made public. Here we have a reputable judge nominated for the Appellate bench and he is scurrilously attacked by a hack politico who should not have had access to his records. And, since the allegations are based on confidential information, he cannot defend himself. Welcome to the politics of personal destruction, Democrat style. Or as Clinton once said," We reward our friends and we f**k our enemies".
If a Republican senator had done this, there would have been huge headlines in the media demanding an investigation by the Justice Department. Maybe a Special Prosecutor.
Since a Democrat did it, this article typically begins as if the Administration is behaving like a bully, intruding where it doesn't belong.
