After all that baloney, the grand kleagle voted "yea"?
Wow - Byrd voted yea. That's amazing.
He's a Republican?
I was very surprised to see Byrd on the "Yea" list--what gives? This has to be some ploy, don't you think?
Hmm, maybe she really is a racist.
Seems to me she can read the writing on the wall with the election of Loosiana's first GOP senator since Reconstruction last year.
I see two Dem's that voted for, I thought there were three? Who other than Byrd and Landeau?
I think you missed the sarcasm embedded in his statement. No REAL republicans voted nay.
Chafee (non-R-RI)
Byrd's up for re-election. Landrieu thinking about 2010 already.
This is SHEETS BYRD's example of what he meant about THE MAGNIFICENT FOURTEEN "rising above politics"...yeah, sure, when HELL FREEZES OVER.
Byrd: Look at the vote, you idiot dementia case..
Byrd wants to run again in a state trending conservative. Landrieu the same. Chaffee is the usual snake in the grass. His father must be shedding tears in heaven.
Look again Chaffee voted nay. However you are right, No republicans voted Nay.
Look again ... Chafee
One final smear-by-associasion for Justice Owens.
That depends on your definition of Republican. Lincoln Chafee, the RINO from the Northeast, voted Nay.
The Democrats should be ashamed of themselves. This vote is clearly not about qualifications, but about trying to keep anyone the President nominates off the courts.
every time I see that woman, without fail, the first thing that comes to mind is wondering about how intimate her relationship with the whole basketball squad was.
Apparently sarcasm must be explicitly labelled.
Looks like Byrd and Landrieu were feeling the southern heat.
Landrieu ran for office as a pro-life, Bush-loving conservative, with the help of her senate colleague. Then she promptly and predictably turned left. But I don't believe the people of Louisiana support the cause of death. Probably the same is true of Byrd. He's been talking like a foaming leftist recently, but evidently he didn't dare vote against this nomination.
The other good news is that Snowe, Collins and the other RINOs are all on board, with cover from McCain. They're just accepting a moderate "comprise."
Brain cramps here - but, who didn't vote? I'm counting 99.....who's missimg?
