Have you seen any Byrd's harangues over the last couple of days? I'm not so sure he knew what he was voting for."
There have been a few mentions about his KKK involvement lately. With the election coming up he probably knew voting against a black female meant trouble.
You might want to check the Democrat fro LA's vote.
If it's not obvious where the Democratic Socialist Party places all their eggs. It's the Judiciary, from whence they rule the land and institute their agenda.
The sell-out was a HUGE defeat for the Republicans. We had a real chance to turn back Socialism, and blew it!!!!! The Socialists retain their death grip on the least democratic and most dangerous branch of government!
Will the brass ring come around again?
He is in dementia...cut him some slack.
See Landrieu
Except for Chafee, but he's not really a Republican.
That wasn't a vote - he was cheering the new PE drug...
"Byrd (D-WV), Yea"
Is that a typo???
bioprof wrote:Inouye didn't vote. He's the one that signed that agreement and committed to vote for cloture yesterday, but dishonored the agreement and didn't vote. What's up with him? Does he have some kind of family emergency or something? Or is he just avoiding the Senate after signing on to that agreement?
Brain cramps here - but, who didn't vote? I'm counting 99.....who's missimg?
" The morons at DU are claiming that one of the 3 (owen, brown, pryor) is going to get voted down and that supposedly Lindsay Graham (or as Laura Ingraham calles him "MIT" for "McCain-in-training")said as much."
I heard Graham on Sean and Tony Snow and one needs a " Graham to English " translation to understand what the guy is saying.
He told Sean that he thinks filibustering judges is unconstitutional and that all judges should get an up or down vote-which is why he voted for the compromise.
Graham vowed that in the future, he and DeWine would be the first to initiate the nuclear option should any Democrat filibuster a judge .
Sean kept asking him to explain his inconsistency and Graham launched into his usual corn pone gobbedlygook.
Graham said that Bush is going to have to send up better judges and that some of his judges will fail, because they have skeletons in their closets ( my words, not his, but, that was his implication.)
Graham did not specify which judges have the scandals in their backgrounds, but, it was plural and he tarred all the judges in the pipeline, by not naming names.
Graham has behaved like a fool not only by joining McCain , but, by his pathetic attempt to justify his decision .
Neither is Jeffords but he showed up for the vote after the Dems found him wondering around the House of Representatives looking for the Senate meeting chambers.
"Landrieu is starting early on her 2008 re-election campaign, where she will probably face Bobby Jindal. Last time (in 2002) she waited a little late to try and masquerade as a moderate, and it nearly cost her the election. I see she's learning from her mistakes."
I've been hoping he would run for higher office. This guy is definitely a rising star.
"Byrd (D-WV)
Landrieu (D-LA)
The only dems voting for confirmation
No, look at the 7 repubs that sold us down the river, McCain, Snowe, etc. They voted yea.
Lieberman voted No???? What's up with that????
Um, this was the roll call on confirmation. I don't know whether Inouye voted yea on cloture. (Besides, in the wake of the agreement, there may not even have been a cloture vote--don't they only arise if there is objection to cutting off debate and calling the question?)
"Lieberman voted No???? What's up with that????"
Low on campaign funds.
