Byrd voted yes, shows he's worried about re-election.

So I heard that we only got 57 votes or whatever.
Can someone please explain to me, who is not that familiar with Senate rules.
It's okay that we didn't get 60 because the Democrats didn't "officially" filibuster?
It is interesting to note that on the clotuer vote, one of the seven Dems that signed that "Memorandum of Understanding" (or whatever it was) did not vote for cloture as promised in the agreement. Senator Inouye promised to vote for cloture but failed to vote at all. Yeah, the seven dwarves say we should trust these people. They've already dishonored their agreement. And the media completely ignored it. So did most Freepers. Trust, but verifiy.
Florida: Martinez (R-FL)Yea Nelson (D-FL) Nay
As does Florida.
God, I wish we could toss that creep out, but it looks like one of the few dims elected in Florida (and you have to look to find any) is here to stay.
It skews their whole world view and their "religion" as well. The philosophy of a liberal is basically humanistic--and that we are our own gods. They have embraced "minorities" (women are a majority with 52% of the population), African-Americans, and other races as a means to achieve moral superiority.
Liberals needs a sense of "moral outrage and justification" because they know in their heart of hearts they have none. They bless homosexuality, coveting thy neighbors goods, and abortion. If you reject God's law, then you make up your own.
In what Lear(s) are you type rated?
Yes, despite the drivel that is spouted by the MSM about florida, we do.
Welcome to Florida.
I wiped a booger on his office chair when I was a little boy touring D.C. on vacation with my parents.
am trying to ascertain the mood of Democrats in the wake of this vote
So am I. I heard a liberal talk show radio show last night and the host was positively outraged!
I was waiting for this nut to stroke out right on the air he was so mad.
Other than thinking that they would lose the whole shebang in a final confrontation with the Pubs, I don't see any other motivation.

Yup! ...*G*...They blinked!
Mine too. I'm looking for opportunities to get more involved with his campaign. I fear that he won't have the national backing that some of the other names might, even as I don't think they are as electable.
Are we excluding the Democrats from our choice?
Political cover. Remember the flack Frist took for voting against cloture on a nomination earlier in his career? Filibusters in general are not popular and as long as the deal was done, why have a cloture vote on your record to be remembered later?
Sometimes there are comments here that really set me off. ROTF. Woohaha! Thanks for the laugh!
I knew, even at eight years old, I did not like Democrats...
