so = for... my bad; we are one of those morally decayed couples that use birth control and do not wear rings.

We don't have 20,000 dollars for a wedding or even 2,000.

The ad is directed to adults who make their own lifestyle choices.

I suspect there are numerous unmarried women (and men, too!) that will routinely engage in sex regardless of this Ortho product.....or ANY sexual contraceptive product.

If teenagers are using this or other products, then that is a reflection on how they were raised and/or a lack of parental influence and control.

I agree with those who say conservatives have much bigger fish to fry, from a societal and political POV. Let's stay the hell out of people's bedrooms.

Far better a young unmarried woman be promiscuous than a married one.

I agree about her ring and her single status, etc.,, but my other objection is, how much of a lazy idiot do you have to be if you can't remember to take a PILL every day? When it's that important...the difference between an unwanted pregnancy or avoiding one...she can't remember to take a pill every day? I think humans have sunk about as low as we can go, as far as laziness, irresponsibility and stupidity.

But you know what, we should ban Ortho!! Yeah!! Let's regulate morality!!! /sarcasm

Who has said anything about regulating morality? Who has said that we should pass a law? There used to be something in society called morals and shame. Liberals are now using the "regulating morality" card the same way they cry censorship when a Hollywood star is scorned for spouting off left wing propaganda.

Get a life. The woman in the ad appears to be in her late 20's to early 30's, and so obviously, the target audience is not young teens. BTW, not every woman wants to wait until marriage to have sex and there are lots of women who have no desire to get married at all or they have already "been there and done that" and would like to have great sex without a husband to screw up their lives. My sister is one of them: Mid 40's, grown children, dead husband, loves sex, but doesn't want a get married again.

Is that her gynecologist in the white lab coat, or her daughter? Or both?

The ad also shows a young woman doctor recommending the patch, who is also apparently unmarried.. The real problem: Since when is it acceptable for females to be doctors? This is an OUTRAGE!!

i, personally, would love to see advertisements for The Art of Natural Family Planning and Taking Charge of Your Fertility posting some of the less publicized side effects of artificial hormones, but the companies that make those ABC options have every right to post their ads. Hopefully, though, they get enough of a smackdown by the public to pull that one. They may have a right to show it, but we have a right to protest it, too. That's the beauty of America and our free market economy. :)

I know I'm in the minority, but I find these ads offensive.

I'll drink to that, I'm with ya.

bitrth control for women is a pair of Birkenstalks and 20 extra pounds

Your're right. As a woman, I know I wouldn't go out with a guy that fits that description; let alone have sex. LOL!

You know, just as a side note, not all married women wear rings.

While I've gotten used to wearing mine, I'll still take it off for weaks at a time. Mostly because I really don't enjoy wearing jewelry of any kind.

It's not a sign that I'm on the market, or that I'm not as committed to my husband. I just don't like jewelry.
