"Keep yer powder dry..."
Good reminder.
The enemy is getting stronger and more numerous with each passing day, while our people are sleeping at the wheel.
Immigration is destroying and will eventually destroy this country.
As for 2006 and beyond, I will vote for a politician that has a plan to shore up the borders. I don't care if he's a "D," an "R," an "L," an "S," a "MF," or an "SOB." If no one distinguishes himself in that regard, no one gets my vote. We must get this border closed if we are to continue as a sovereign country.
I found it at: CT Citizens for Immigration Control
Looks valid - thanks!
The piece by Bush starts out:
" Remember who your friends are. Always good advice in life.
And now, words to keep in mind as the rhetoric of the 1996 election begins.
Mexico currently wears the bright red bull's-eye in the ongoing political cross fire.
The issues of the 1996 campaign will be emotional. There should be lively debate and discussion. But discussion about immigration and Mexico can turn ugly and destructive very quickly, severely damaging a positive and beneficial relationship."
I was not able to buy the archive file easily so I have given up. I tried to find it on the Texas Governor's website but there seems to be no archive.
All in all, Bush's stance on mexico is clear: He will do anything in his power to help that backwater country. Even if it means costing the U.S. billions of dollars and a reduction in soveriegnty.
I have never been able to find out why he loves mexico and mexicans so much.
To others that will cry racism on my part ask yourself this: Have any of Bush's proposals (re: immigration) been as beneficial to any other group as they have been to mexicans/hispanics?
