I mean "But taiwan cannot by law produce it even if it's a threat".
What law are you referring to?

"I thought it was interesting that the Chinese government immediately stated that the General was only speaking for himself. "
So is that Chinese lingo for General Zhu is Chinas useful idiot like Micheal Moore is to the DNC?

The more worrisome question is whether this Chinese general is one of those who has his finger on the button. The fact that he "doesn't speak" for the government may not be relevant, if he "pushes" for the government.

Great Leader = Kim Il Sung
Dear Leader = Kim Jong Il
Dead Boxer = Doo Ku Kim

Neither this General or any other is going to launch "nucular" missiles at us in response to conventional warfare over Taiwan. Gaining Taiwan and losing all of your cities from warheads delivered by Trident missiles is not a very good deal.

I agree that it makes no sense. On the other hand, it makes no sense to threaten it either.
The problem is that the ChiComs and North Koreans have the same strategic vision. They both consider nuclear bombs to be the solution to all their problems.

If Taiwan feels threatened enough, mere laws will not matter.

And thank you Bill Clinton for making sure that the CHICOMs received U.S. warhead development technology, including our legacy codes, so they could save themselves about 10 or 15 years of development time and untold billions of $$.
True but Nixon had to be a damn fool to think once in this country the Chicoms wern't going to steal our technology
