She is a real lady and a real Queen.
I am very proud of her and what she did for Iran.
You might be interested to read her latest book:

Reza Pahlavi received a western education and hit pilot training at our top gun facility here in the US. He makes his home in Bethesda, MD with his wife and three children. He saw what became of his father and I can assure you he does not want to repeat history. His heart has always been with the people and not with the power brokers - although he is using his influence with powerful people to hep put pressure on the current regime. All you have to do is read his speeches, or better yet, attend one, to see Mr. Pahlavi as he delivers his passionate plea for free elections in his homeland.
The Iranian people are overdue for a chance to determine their own future. If they try to crown Reza, they'll encounter resistance from him. He has said and written that he has no desire to rule Iran. I believe him.
Crown Prine Reza Pahlavi has a web site that is very informative concerning his feelings for the people of Iran.
Nice way to start a debate, with a personal attack. You, like all the other mice, are enchanted by this pied piper. Do you know how many middle eastern autocrats have received a western education. Your logic is that of a 10 year old (Yes, that's a personal atack). Just because he was educated here, does not make him a good man.
How much do you really know about Pahlavi? Would it surprise you that his most ardent supporters are the former sycophants of the Shah? Hmm..I wonder what they're reasoning is.
His heart has always been with the people? Really? How was able to come to US for an education? How was he able to live such a lavish life? Oh, that's right, from the money his family PILLAGED.
Spare me your uncritical love-fest. Read a little between the lines. This is the same way Iran was entrapped by Khomeini. When he was in exile (sound familiar?) he talked about democracy and freedoms and women's rights. Look where that led Iran. No, a true revolution has to start within from people who know firsthand and have experienced the suffering. It will not start with and reward a pampered, son of an autocrat. I will freely admit that I will visit the sins of his father upon him. It is a risk that Iranians cannot take. That is this fool's opinion.

As I recall they did that in 1979. They had enough of the shah's repression and threw him out. When they've had enough of the mullahs they will do it again. I hope they do. But I do not buy into any of the shahista revisionist history and propaganda that shows up here daily and I do not want one American to lose his life to put the bogus dynasty anywhere near power again.
No less than Teddy Roosevelt's grandson who led the CIA effort to put a reluctant reza on the throne described him as "pathologically afraid" of getting involved in the coup. That tidbit is from CIA docs that have been declassified and can be found easily if one wants to learn the truth.
And by the way, people sieze their freedom, they don't wait.
No debate from me. You're right on.
Don your suit...not safe to talk sense on these threads...
Ditto.
I have many Persians friends(they do tend to get pretty edgy when called Arabs).who wish like your self that Iran (Persia) will get back to their former glory.
One question for you, how come that Iran fell in the clutches of ARAB fundamentalists and the rigid and extreme teachings of Islam theology.
You are proud Persians, Darius descendants, how in God's name your folks allowed such a travesty and relinquish your freedom to a bunch of bearded old mens in black robes and a fossilized 7th Century religion?
You Country is a History laden country, and you and your brethren better take this country back, because the evil Islamofascists will destroy your Country like they did in Afghanistan!
Do you think that the Persians just decided one day to let the Arab nazis come in and take over? No. The Persian wmpire was weakened by the very monarchy that people seem to lust after today. Debauchery, lechery and corruption had befallen the Persian empire and it was ripe for a hostile islamic take over. A true democratic revolution is needed, not a damn fairy tale.
ok... that works for me, but who's going to do the heavy lifting while RP is out shaking hands?

Charles meets Iran quake survivors: CNN - February 9, 2004
Charles, whose trip underscored Britain's policy of engagement with Iran -- in contrast with Washington which branded Tehran part of an "axis of evil" -- is the first British royal to visit in nearly three decades.

Honestly, I found this post very interesting... However, in my mind a person should demonstrate their abilities and be rewarded for those abilities by popular support. Priests, Mullahs, Royals, Actors and Sports figures have relations with the public that have nothing to do with their political or intellectual abilities. For whatever reason, and I am sure there are as many as there are people, the public, be they American or Iranian may indeed reward these celebrities as if they do have intellectual or political ability... Celebrities may in fact have some political or intellectual abilities by happenstance, beyond their non-political and non-intellectual relationship with the public. If they do they should demonstrate that they have it. King Hussein bin Talal (1935-1999) of Jordan had a knack for politics. Maybe he would have been elected had he the opportunity the opportunity to participate in a free and fair election...
