I suggest you take your right hand, reach over your head and grasp your left ear. Next, take your left hand, reach over your head and grasp your right ear.

Now, with a swift and smooth motion, vigorously pull your head out of your butt.

I will leave the extraction of both of your feet from your mouth to your own creativity.

Back in the early '70s, I was living in Aurora, IL in an apartment complex. One of my neighbors was a couple from Iran with their two little girls who were always around me when I was outside. They once invited me to dinner and I noticed an ominous poster on their dining room wall. It was an anti-Shah poster and when I asked about it, the husband told me about how terrible it was over there with the Shah and his secret police. He told me that if the religious leaders could only gain control, it would be a liberal's "heaven on earth".

He also laughed at me for praying before the meal. I told him that it was how Christians blessed their food and thanked God for his blessings. He told me that Moslems prayed after eating to thank Allah that their food wasn't poisoned. I responded that Christians usually didn't expect their food to be poisoned.

Later, when they finally were able to buy a house, I helped them paint it as part of their sweat equity. He was a nice enough guy, and his wife was very kind and his two daughters were real sweethearts. I just hope to God that he didn't take his family back to that "liberal's heaven on earth"!

He must have invited you over because his children needed intellectual peers. How the heck do you know how life in Iran was during the Shah's reign? Don't talk about things you don't know. By the way, anyone who call sany middle eastern despost "his majesty" doesn't care about true democracy.

That exchange was not meant for you and your bigoted opinions are not only not solicited, but are not appreciated. Why don't you go get some psychological counseling so that you can mingle with civilized groups.

Seriously, what is your beef with me. The first post I got from you was that I should take my hatred somewhere else. When I pointed out what I was replying to, you were very flip. I understand that your position is different than mine, and that's fine. This forum is for debates. You sought me out and made personal comments.

As far as bigoted, I don't know what you mean. I am an Iranian-American who has severe doubts about the Shah's son. If you can't debate me on that, then all you're doing is seeking out views that are 100% in sync with yours. According to you I need psychological counseling, am bigoted, and filled with hate basically because I disagree with your position. Does that make sense?

I said some personal things as well, and that was very childish. I'm not proud of that and do apologize for it. If there is disagreement then an exchange of points of view is a good thing, especially when in the end our goal is the same.

I am not the only one you appear to have disagreed with. Talk to me when you decide to become an American, and not just a "Hyphenated American". My family came from Europe and became Americans.

first of all, I only use Iranian-American because it explains my origins. I've said many times before on these boards (not that you would know) that I hate the monikor, but it is necessary sometimes. Secondly, this other person I disagree with is of Iranian background as well, and our difference is about an issue which Iranians and Americans with an interest have a healthy disagreement.

Others have agreed with me on this post. This is beside the point. You felt free to call me a hateful bigot because I had problems with the Shah's son. It doesn't matter how many people disagree with me. When you make a comment like that, it implies that you don't have a sound counter-argument. Like I said before, I apologize for my personal comments. They weren't right. I'd love to hear why exactly me not liking the Shah's son makes me a hateful bigot.

Sounded like a Communist/Leftist

Any way, Iran under the Shah was perfect!

You are always welcome to visit my country if you wish!
