"Actually cake is right. Spit has antiseptic substances. If adequate antiseptics aren´t available, use your spit on smaller wounds. However, it is unbelievable that this teacher licked the wounds of students. You can lick your own wounds (because you can´t infect yourself by using your own spit), maybe a Mom can do so with a small scratch of her little child, but a teacher? NEVER!"

Yeah ... right! Totally SICK with NO benefits. Get real!

A dog has antiseptic qualities in their saliva but HUMANS do NOT.

Need I mention that AIDS or hepatitis as one of many consequences of engaging in LICKING and by default EATING blood?

YUCK!

Hey, first, I never advocated using saliva on wounds of others (except a Mom for her own young child) - only your own (!) - and then only if proper antiseptics are not nearby. The benefit is that the dirt can washed out easier, and - do a google search - human saliva has substances (enzyms, IIRC) that have an antiseptic effect. It may be a small benefit, but since it doesn´t harm you at all, you shouldn´t worry. Did you grow up in urban areas?

Believe what you wish. Pay no attention to the germs and disease you can contract. We prefer antiseptics. Human saliva is not an antiseptic by any stretch of the imagination.

Perhaps you should consider civilizing yourself.

What do you think I am? A beast? Do you believe that you can infect yourself by using spit on a small wound? If you think it´s simply disgusting, then allow me to have my opinion that using spit is better than using nothing to treat a wound for an hour or two until you get access to real treatment.

{ewwww... I didn't need that vision first thing in the AM. lol}

Yeah... that was kinda gross on my part. Sorry!

Actually, I have this wonderfully tacky picture I FX'd months ago regarding "The Lewinsky School of Internship" but I dare not post it here. I'd get banned in about 4 seconds.
