I read #8. Crashing into a mountain will do that to equipment.
But the article SAID that a flight attendant's body was found in thje cockpit. So she was probably trying desperately to land the plane somehow. Assuming she was also the one who was found to be alive at the time of the crash.
Yeah... I think he ran into a door...
F16 intercepter pilots said:
They saw two people who they thought were crew members trying to prevent the plane from crashing, a government spokesman said.
The body of a female flight attendant was found in the wreckage of the cockpit, the spokesman said.
Note: they still have not found the pilots body last I heard.
Were there some people who were frozen solid? How could any others be up and moving? Are some people more sensitive to freezing than others, or does lack of oxygen mean some died early in the 2 hours, and those who had enough oxygen stayed warm enough by their own circulation?
I thought the black boxes were supposed to survive explosions and, um, plane crashes. What, was this one out of Tupperware?
The time line allows about two hours that the plane was flying and out of communication. Two hours at -40 could very well freeze an inactive body. Best I can tell so far total flight time was about three hours so running out of fuel is a clear possibility. Been watching the news pics and don't see signs of a fuel fire which makes that even more likely---from where I'm watching. But "weird" certainly applies.
Concerning a system---there is, and that is what got the fighters up---no response from the crew as the plane moved thru control areas.
All pictures from the crash site only show the tail. That's the biggest piece left. Planes that hit mountains at full speed disintegrate.
The more this goes on, the odder it gets.
I don't see how the flight recorder could have been ejected from the black box. I'm guessing there was no flight recorder, but they don't want to tell us.
You dreamded up that "run out of fuel" nonsense. I've never seen a single report of that.
The F16 pilots watched the crash, because they were there trying to get some response from the plane which failed to answer challanges by air traffic control. They reported seeing a stew in the cockpit, trying to get the plane off autopilot - probably under their radio directions.
You need to look at a map. The plane was flying at 35,000 feet en route from Larnaca in Cyprus to Prague via Athens. Hint: that's over water.
"What, was this one out of Tupperware?"
You have to "burp" those things to ensure a tight seal.
Most FAA ATCs will allow public tours on a supervised basis; check with your local airport authority and take a look at what goes on if you can.
They suspect that some of the passengers were trying to fly the plane.
Suspicious for sure.
What's a fish sound like?
The same thing that it smells like.
It is. Very odd.
On all Free Republic threads about airline crashes, the tin foil is unrolled freely. Just about everyone sees a conspiracy to cover up the fact that the airline was either destroyed by terrorists or shot down by the U.S. Navy.
Of course most of these people don't know a thing about aviation and couldn't tell a 737 from an MD-80.
Maybe it's worth noting that this is how the local Humane Society kills surplus animals. The hyperbaric chamber is extremely efficient. I don't know the operating numbers but they don't get anywhere near a simulated 35,000 feet before the animals are all done and it just taked minutes.
Additionally, unless the Greeks hot wired the oxy systems, the plane should have had two---one for the passengers and one for the cockpit. The cabin oxy is supposed to last 12-15 minutes but the cockpit has a larger supply. Depressurization drops the cabin masks automatically which makes me wonder if the Gleeks didn't top off the oxy tanks?
Depressurization incidents happen but 10 minutes is plenty of time to recover----unless there was NO OXYGEN. In which case things would happen exactly as we see them. not weird---just stupid.
I've got it... the pilot bailed out by parachute, and took the black box with him. He left a dummy in its place.
