It will if they remain friendly to us.

Thorlock says his source is the lame stream media.
Anyone who takes the lame stream media at face value hook line and sinker drinks Kool Aid.
They'd also buy a bridge..

When told that the media lies, he had this to say:

"The troops throughout history are po'd with the media. That doesn't mean that the media always gets it wrong."

Sure the media lies. Doesn't mean everything they say is a lie. Unless I go to Iraq and see for myself, they are all I have to make an opinion. Except forums like this, which is why I came here and posed the question.

Why does this question bother you so much that you feel the need to attack? It's a valid and troubling question.

REPEAT: "Like I said, I'll continue to discussed Iraq & Terrorism on other threads - but I don't bother playing with the Kool-aid crowd even when others see them as useful allies."

During war, where, when and with whom you discuss the "hard questions" determines which side you're standing on - whether you like it or not. Do you think maybe we should have this discussion with those from an al-Jazeera forum?

You mean that the media is falsely reporting that Islamic Law will be the bedrock of the Iraqi Constitution?

Can you point me to a resource that refutes their misguided notion. Seems to me that all outlets reporting on Iraq recognize that sharia law will be embedded in the Constitution.

Killian Memos.
Fake but accurate.
Dan Rather said so.

No, the media lies, doesn't report the entire story, misrepresents things, over exaggerates things, and omits important information.
In short, the media lies.
The troops have been saying that things aren't as bad as the media is saying.
Even with Shiites being elected.

If you have lurked for a while you would of discovered that this is not unusual. I've been called a Communist, Liberal and a Nazi in the same thread! You should of provided a source for your questions before you asked them. Welcome to the FR.

"It's a valid and troubling question."

It is indeed but the answer might imply that all is not rosy on the middle eastern front. Can't have that now. You will be silent...or you will be silenced. Welcome to the New Free Republic.

It's not debate we want...just validation of our views.

From FDR's commonsense internment

We've been watching the 'Foyle's War', a BBC dramatic series set in WWII. One of the first episodes dealt with rounding up German citizens residing in England and other issues regarding enemy alien status levels.

I notice that your question remains unanswered.

How will an Islamic rule in Iraq benefit the US?

I'll answer it...It won't.
