"My biggest mistake was not recognizing by Saturday that Louisiana was dysfunctional,"
"The people of FEMA are being tired of being beat up, and they don't deserve it," Brown said.
I wish W would talk like that.

Now, I don't want to defend FEMA and Brown, but he they functioned quite well last year inFlorida, and everyone should know that Louisiana is dysfunctional, it is not for nothing that NO and the delta is called "The Big Easy"

I caught part of the hearing. Brown defended himself well. WHY was Jefferson invited to grill Brown? Jefferson is under federal investigation for misuse of campaign funds AND he misappropriated National Guard equipment - two trucks because one became bogged down in the idiot's yard and one rescue helicopter, already containing two people who had NEEDED rescuing - and manpower just to go get some stuff from his house which was NOT flooded.

Brown is right. The fault of this whole thing lies entirely in the hands of nagin and blanco. Two of the most inept people in any position of responsibility. Even Christopher Shays agrees with that.

I wish W would talk like that. That would allow the MSM to turn him into a target.
Brown is saying exactly what happened. That's why these hearings are being held, and why the Demo(n)cRATS are boycotting them.
They know how bad they are going to look.

"I find it absolutely stunning that this hearing would start out with you, Mr. Brown, laying the blame for FEMA's failings at the feet of the governor of Louisiana and the Mayor of New Orleans."
Would he prefer Brown wait until the hearing had progressed a little more before he blamed the people who were responsible?

I have not watched ABC for a long long time but I just watched ABC News's report on this. I could just scream! I had hoped it would get better without Peter Jennings. It hasn't. I am all for the first amendment but what MSM is doing goes well beyond that. Outright lies and propaganda / / / I think I will scream.....excuse me, I must go now.

WTG Brown, hats off to a man who isn't going to put his head in the sand and play PC patsy for the rats or media. I hope Brown has just lit the fire under the spineless GOP.

Is it relevant that a third of NOLA's police force was phantom, nonexistent, payroll checks going to thin air?
