I don't believe that... and won't believe it without evidence.

WHAT!?? The MSM is playing loose with the facts again, trying to pin the tail on their enemies?

Pass me the smelling salts, Muriel. I think I'm having yet another swoon...

If Joe Wilson is writing op-eds in the New York Times about being sent on CIA missions, then his wife's cover has already been compromised.

"If the Plame Wilson photo spread is any indication of how to fight classified wars, then I would say going public is the only way to stay alive"

I think you just said that the Bush administration would have had Plame and Wilson killed if they had not gone public. I don't believe that for a second. President Bush is a moral man. For that matter I don't believe it about Clinton either but for different reasons.

I continue to blame President Bush, and especially former-Attorney General Ashcroft, for ordering this 'special investigation / prosecution in the first place.

After all, THEY knew Plame was no covert agent, not to mention that she had already been 'outed' by Wilson and by the CIA itself.

Ashcroft stupidly recused himself and handed the decision to Alberto Gonzales, who appointed pitull Fitzgerald.

THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED by THAT POINT.

Instead, Bush 'turned the other cheek' in his boyishly naive attempt to 'change the tone in Washington,DC.'

Thus Bush has no one to blame but himself for being so weakly inept at failing to see this continued effort by the leftist media combined with zealous prosecutors such as Fitzgerald.

Sometimes GWB is his own worst enemy.

I figured Wilson would say his wife had been threatened. I would like to see evidence of that or have it immediately tracked down for validity of threat and those involved exposed publicly as Wilson likes things public, and subsequently arrested. With the problems of exposure in her background, whether she caused, someone else caused and still may have intent to cause would pretty much end that part of her career; but for pushing papers. Added to the fact he married a "flamboyant" figure who attracts attention to himself and subsequently to those close to him. Recently, Plame just was reported as saying she wants to retire and spend time with the kids.

Plus, Bush foolishly left Tenet in charge of the CIA for years, and did nothing to broom out the corrupt clintonoids, many of whom are probably blackmailable and controllable by hillary clinton and her gang.

Bush never cleaned out the Justice Department, the CIA, or the FBI, all of which had been thoroughly corrupted and compromised by the clintons. Many of these security agents were involved in various crimes with the clintons over the course of the previous eight years, and the worst of them were the ones that were promoted. Even if all those former clinton stooges had wanted to reform, they couldn't, because the clintons still have the goods on them and, unlike Bush, wouldn't hesitate for a minute to use them.

Well we could look at it this way. Apparently the CIA considers American Citizens much more dangerous than AN F- ING COMMIE DICTATOR IN CUBA.

Plame's job was classified through the end of July 2003

Wrong!

It makes no difference if the job is classified - the law protects undercover or covert intelligence agents. You can't be a covert intelligence agent and walk in and out of the CIA building every day.

Kind of blows the cover, don't ya think?

I don't think that is accurate. During the cold war there were many occasions where Russian agents knew something that we still kept classified.

If it makes no difference that something is classified then why have a classification system.

If her job was classified or that wasn;t important then why did the FBI pursue the referral from the CIA? Why did the justice department take over from the FBI? Why did Ashcroft recuse himself so quickly?

Maybe Libby can argue that it was incorrectly classified. in research that would not be a defense but this may be different.

I thought it was funny that Fritzgerald made a point that Plume's identity was not 'widely known' prior to Novak's story. Not that it was highly guarded secret but only that it was not 'widely known'. Obviously whatever cover she had was blown for a long time, it just had not been printed in a newspaper.

Difficult to fight evil unless you are a little bit evil yourself. But, we have laws that keep us from doing that! Meanwhile, Evil goes by his or her own rules, because they can. We [Bush] might win out more often if we played by their rules.

Agreed, but Bush is a "uniter, not a divider". (/sarcasm)

Marty...or al Qaeda as in my comment under the story in reference to Fitzgerald complaining the public was not media educated on evidence of the ties between Iraq and al Qaeda; as if it is always the media's job to alert us to the facts per issue. Don't hold your breath on that one.

Fitzgerald can put up a website for our "ease to know" on Plame; but did not, in the 9/11 commission fact gathering instance where he stated he did not understand why evidence of fact were not reported in media. (from transcript linked above). And he suggests this Leak issue has major security risks over our al Qaeda operatives?

Me thinks.. Nelson DeMille should be reached for comment. His fiction is more like fact while the CIA's facts seem more like fiction.

Ok, this is all about sharing, isn't it.
