The drug companies already have a way of producing vaccines without more relaxation of standards. Especially when the government guarantees $5 to $10 a dose x 200 million doses even if the vaccine is never needed. Even at $5 a dose that is ONE BILLION DOLLARS guaranteed taxpayer SUBSIDY.

And how many times has a drug company been successfully sued over a government initiated vaccine?

And another double standard example by our government. Remember the charges and prosecution of people profiteering after hurricane Katrina and Wilma because they are supplying needed supplies with a considerable markup? Drug manufacturers stand to profit nearly a Billion Dollars on a threat of impending doom that hasn't even happened yet and may never happen. We can see a hurricane and the aftermath. We can only envision the potential of a pandemic. While there of course should be some concern, the needless hysteria and panic are only to loosen the purse strings of congress to subsidize a quick billion bucks profit for the drug companies.

And one other question. Where did this strain of bird flu originate? SE Asia? Could it be some kind of bio terrorism experiment to mimic the spread of biological agents? The use of birds as a universal carrier, that cannot be quarintined, would be an excellent means of delivery. It is just finding a strain of something deadly that can mutate.
Locating the labs that create these things would be more cost effective as a prevention measure than waiting for their success.

As I said at the beginning of my first comment..."Some might find this sensational, some may think of conspiracy theories"

And granted the sources including C2C generate a lot of criticism because there tends to be a lot of lunatic fringe. I think people need to keep somewhat of an open mind because the truth is somewhere between the government and the fringe versions. And of course....the government version is always the version we can trust isn't it????
