There's got to be a joke there somewhere because I see the names "Sven" and "Ole" (Lena is the smart one, donchyaknow).

They should name the hurricane depending on the strength.
Category 5: Arabic name. Hurricane Aisha. Hurricane Mohammed.
Category 4: White name.
Category 3: Black name
Category 2: Asian name. Hurricane Chang
Category 1: French name: Hurricane Jacques.

Hmmm... If I suggest "black names" would I then be a racist for categorizing and stereotyping? But then, if I try and ignore this, hoping it would go away, would I then be a racist for being insensitive to "black issues"?
With that said, doesn't Hurricane Chantel make an appearance every few years or so?

I have a cousin adopted from Brazil, who is mostly Black (and probably part Native American), and you will never ever guess what her first name is:
Katrina. I kid you not. She is a junior in college as we speak.

I don't know why we didn't just number them 1,2,3, etc. I fail to see the importance of naming them in any other fashion but then again, I didn't create the system and I don't really care what they name them either. Just make sure I know when it's coming my way and I'll be thankful.

You seem to be the only one complaining. Your free to move to another article instead of continually posting to this one.

I wonder how much of a storm of controversy that the name Jesus would create? You know, the Spanish pronunciation.

You got that right, although we retire hurricane names that cause great destruction and sadly the Carter name would be retired over the great destruction it caused in the late 70's.

This is stupid PC liberalism run-amok. But they may win in the end. In thirty years Hurricane Pedro may be bearing down on the gulf coast, while Hurricane Alaysia is in the ocean, and Tropical Storm Shanice is just forming. Made-up names like that drive me crazy. When I volunteered with my churches programs for inner city kids, we got some of the stupidest names and spellings of names you've ever seen.

Besides being an old article this was already posted before back when it was current news.
