Maybe the bike-cop was the offensive bit, then it would be a vocational slur ;) Actually, I was wondering if the cops cleaned up the alleged language.

Is calling someone a Mexican a slur?
Only if you fail to pronounce the 'x' - Messican, there, now that's a slur.

I wish this was done with a regular patrol unit. The in car camera would have the truth on it and would probably shut these two spoled brats PR machines right down.

Oh you betcha. There is nothing more fun than letting a ranting idiot run his/her mouth, then say, "Sir/Ma'am, these are serious accusations against my officer, let's review the tape together so you can point out where your rights were violated."
The conversation usually takes an immediate turn, starting with, "um, well..." and ends in "Nevermind"

Is it any worse than my mom referring to herself as "Italian" (despite being born in Jersey City) or my dad referring to himself as "Polish" (born in Newark)?
Geez, give it a rest. When Mayor Daley referred to himself as "Irish" you folks probably didn't give him a hard time.

They would both do well to apologize early and often.
I was just recently on the receiving end of San Antonio Police attention. (My fault) The officer was polite, firm and doing his job. That is my experience with S.A. officers in general.

Smart cops today wear a wire at all times when engaged with the public. Traffic cops especially are known to wear them, since dealing with irate, and sometimes litigious, drivers is a big part of the job.
Let's hope this cop has a tape to produce in court should Longoria carry out her threat to sue. In fact, the more you think about it, the more sense it makes that he does have a tape, since it would have been quite unwise to accuse Longoria of such remarks unless he had proof.

Just move the damn car! This line in the article got me. What a spoiled brat!
Parker didn't like the policeman touching his car.

Actually, I would. If Mayor Daley wants to be Irish, than he can go be the mayor of Cork.
I live here, in this country, America, with fewer and fewer Americans and more and more hyphens or disavowers of being american, and I am sick of it.
The fortunate circumstances that brought my Great Great Great to New York from Oslo makes me no more Scandanavian than making a flying jump from one piece of furniture to another makes my cat a astronaut.

" On the other hand, the officer did dare to touch Tonys' car."
They touch your car for a reason. All cops do this. If the person in the car turns out to be a really bad guy and kills the cop, their hand and fingerprints are on that vehicle as evidence. They usually put their hand on the trunk for this purpose.
