This guy has had a major screw loose since back in the Eighties when Reagan was slapping him around.

Didn't take long for Ghadafi to discontinue his meds. Pity ... they were working so well.

Moments later, however, the erratic dictator called himself "a liberal" and insisted that he agreed with the U.S. on ridding the world of terrorism.
"Right now, I have nothing against America, except for the fact that it opposes the Palestinian people, and is destroying Iraq. Apart from this, America and I agree on everything . . . . Now America is saying that the oppressive, theocratic regimes that exploit religion are terrorist regimes. It has stopped supporting these regimes in order to topple them. So America and I agree these theocratic regimes must be fought."
Now that is funny...lol. He just does not agree that ruthless dictators should be toppled..(rolling eyes)

I should probably just stop reading newsmax stories - I tend to get irritated at the misleading nature.... in this case Quadaffi is explaining why he is cutting military spending and saying that in the even the country is occupied by a foreign force they can defend the country with booby traps (and yes this does imply suicide bombings).
But then the headline makes it sound he is encouraging suicide bombing now.

-"If every Libyan is booby-trapped, every car is booby-trapped, every house is booby-trapped and every road is booby-trapped - the enemy will not be able to survive.-
I'm for it. With the whole place booby-trapped, we won't even have to go in. They'll kill themselves off quicker than we could (or would).

"
If every Libyan is booby-trapped, every car is booby-trapped, every house is booby-trapped and every road is booby-trapped -" ... the boobies will be trapped.
The Bell Curve seems to be about right, though Lybians may be on the lower side, even more than indicated.

As crazy as Qaddafi,or sounds, he's hit on one uunimpeachable fact, that our founders new and stressed.
An armed population, cannot be controlled...a.k.a. the second amendment.
He's learned his lessons from dealing with Reagan and Dubya. He gave up his WMD program and now iis allowing his populace to become armed ( malitia), looks to me as if he wants to sit out the comming regional wide conflict and eventually fade away.

I agree - Muamar was/is talking about something more-
notice how Newsmax doesn't mention Libya's compliance
with the U.S. on WMD's. They turned over close to
( 10 TONS! ) to the U. S. -both Nuclear & Chemical.
and has been cooperating with U.S. & Britain on who
was helping build them.

"..I canceled the WMD program,.."
That WMD "program" comes from Iraq few days after we attack Iraq. The Russians helped peacefully transfer WMD from Iraq to Lybia. And Mohair came out clean of WMD, as a good world citizen.

When billion dollar newspapers like the NY Times cna't be trusted to be straight forward, it's not surprising that web sites like Newsmax have similar problems but what bothers me is to have a bunch of Freepers jump in without applying the skepticism they would to other news sources.

Funny how those who preach suicide fail to lead by example.
