Word to the wise:
Never, never, NEVER use the construction "do" or "did" to fill out a line.
It is the infallible mark of the doggerel versifier. The only person who has ever successfully gotten away with it was Alexander McGonagal, and that was strictly because he was SO bad he did an end run back to sublime. And because he's had 100 years to grow on people. Much like Mr. Lear.
"How pleasant to know Mr.Lear!"
Who has written such volumes of stuff!
Some think him ill-tempered and queer,
But a few think him pleasant enough.

There was a young man named Osama
Who never listened to his momma,
He grew up to be
A piece of human debris,
And now lives in a cave with a llama.

Here's a couple I used to do back in my days of doing stand-up.
There was a young girl from Peru
Who said, "I'll do it with you.
But not on the floor,
'cause I'm kind of sore.
Last night I was with Montezu....ma
(cut me some slack, people!)
There was a young man named Gautama
who lived in Tibet as a lama.
He said, "Won't it be dandy. Some day I'll be Gandhi
and dress like I do for the sauna."
These are the clean ones...

Agree to disagree,
Is that the only choice?
If I were to flee,
Would he then hear my voice?

A man's daughter once attended his Alma Mater
Her tuition was paid by her father
Her social life went well
But when her grades went to hell
Her father went and got her.

I've created an updated page with a collection of some of the juicer Freeper limerick compositions
Here.
Saves a little work for those who wish to browse just the limericks...and saves time for those on dial up.

There once was a maid from Nantuckett
Who plied Teddy with beer in a bucket
She went for a ride
He wrecked and she died
Came time for jail and he ducked it.
