Boy, that will show the world how shallow the Dems are.

"You won't let us fillibuster.... We are gonna go home now".

DU is in apoplexy. They havn't grasped that for us it is a win-win. Either they vote in Alito, or if they fillibuster, we go nuke and Alito gets in and we get 3 years of silence from the dems... I am getting a load of popcorn for this show... its gonna be good

Semper Fi

Just saw Dick Turban (Ill-D) on Fox, he is supporting the Massachusetts jokers too! He is really making a name for himself, I hate that I live in Illinois with such a piece of crap for a senator.

He stated on Fox, that Alitos appointment is a lifetime appt. said that he doesn't want the people of Illinois asking "where was Turban" when this happened. I told him good thing his position isn't lifetime & he can be defeated!

Also told him that we know where he is, aligned with the rest of the rats with a party whose platform is Baby Murder!

She is taking the bait. I did not think you could fool the devil.

She's not the devil, merely the devil's fool.

Senator Cankles jumps on a sinking ship.

Actually, it's a pretty savvy move. She waited untill there was no chance of a filibuster succeeding and then announced she would support it. No one normal will care about her vote because it changes nothing. But she'll be able to wave her vote around during the 2008 primaries to establish her street cred with the loonies, which needs some repairing.

I hope they DO boycott the SOTU. If they're there, they'll be so undignified we'll be humiliated for them.

I'm not sure they'd have the guts to actually do that, PD. It wouldn't play well in the country.

But, I hope they actually have the bad taste to do it. My guess is, if they go, they'll boo.

While I have reservations as to whether or not the pubbies have the stones to go nuclear, this could be one VERY entertaining bit of political theater.

Let's say that they get 41 idiots to support the filibuster. After being backed into the corner, I believe (not "I am sure") that the Republicans would pull the trigger and launch the nuclear option. IF, and it is a big IF, the Dummys reacted by boycotting the SOTU speech, they would look like petulant little children.

BTW, does ANYONE believe that ALL of the Dems in the House and Senate would boycott the State of the Union Speech? There ain't no freakin' way! A certain percent of them (I would guess those that remembered to take their meds) would show up, if for no other reason, then just to get face time on national TV.

Anyway, the sour feelings this lack of unity would cause within the Democrat Party could actually lead to - if not a split within the party - possibly some jumping ship and becoming, DA-DUH, Independents or possibly even Republicans! Gasp!

This is going to be HUGE fun! The next four days are going to be Nirvana for political junkies!

A tearful Hillary Clinton dragged herself to the feet of Texas press icon Molly Ivins and begged the sagging, lizard-like Ivins to take her back into the fold and love her again.

"Is this enough, Mol?" Entreated the ex-first lady, her black pantsuit streaked with tears.

Oh, FGS, nobody in their right mind would believe that; it's ridiculous to even pass that along.

Do NOT play into that agenda.

I don't think they will stay away from the SOTU either, but I'd LOVE it if they would. It would be the END of them as a national party.

I do think they'll boo though.
