Defense Minister Okruashvili Talks Tough on Secessionist Leaders

Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili said on February 5 that leaders of breakaway South Ossetia and Abkhazia can not take even a minor decision without agreeing it with their masters in Moscow.

“With whom we should hold dialogue? With [Abkhaz leader Sergey] Bagapsh, who is deprived of any right to take decisions, or with [South Ossetian leader Eduard] Kokoity, whom I have once described as charlatan? There are three Russian generals who rule South Ossetia currently… and they are decision-makers there,” Irakli Okruashvili told Georgian reporters in Munich on the sideline of international security conference.

Okruashvili commented on statement by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Ivanov, who said earlier on February 5 at a news conference in Munich that Georgia should negotiate with leadership of South Ossetia and Abkhazia if Tbilisi wants to solve these conflicts.

“Russia is not going to do this instead of you [the Georgian side],” Ivanov added.

Thank you. It appears that more exploration for energy resources needs to be done in Georgia.

Even in 20th century as part of Soviet Union Russia saved your polish people from total annihilation by hitlerites.

Good thing Soviets invaded Poland along with their ally Hitler, eh Lukasz! Too bad it took them 40 years to leave....

Too bad that invasion brought to Ukarine new lands on West. It is funny that you unite with poles in that:). If not Stalin invasion of 1939 we wouldn't see Lviv inside Ukarine today:)).
Quite hypocritical of you:).

But I told about 1944. If Stalin stopped on river Bug then he save the lot of lifes of soviet soldiers but sametimes we probably wouldn't have Poland there today. They lost 5-6 mlns during 5 years of Hitler' occupation to 1945.
Hence if Hitler stayed in Poland some 10=15 years more poles would be completely exterminated.
Today poles forgot completely about that. Ungratefulness rules.

Nazi-Soviet military parade in Brest-Livovsk after fall of Poland. This is liberation? They are liberators?

In 1939 Soviets were invaders. But what about 1944? Again you try to avoid answering on my question. What if Stalin stopped in 1944 and didn't enter Poland?
We all know that Poland lost 5-6 mlns people for 5 years of Hitler occupation. So about 1 mln per year. So if Stalin didn't enetr then to about 1955 Poles became extinct species.
Soviet soldiers lost thier lifes to save poles from total extinction under Hiler. Would you bit grateful?

We discussed this issue before… Hitler already lost the war and it would be a bit longer but we would be free and independent in the end. Also Warsaw Upspring would be postponed and less people would be slaughtered there.

Soviet soldiers lost thier lifes to save poles from total extinction under Hiler. Would you bit grateful?

As above and Soviet soldiers never fought to save Poles. What was their motivation, it is not my problem but for sure not Poles and Poland. Five years before they came to kill us and this is everything what is important here. Also lets not forget that those Polish soldier who fought Nazis were later doomed by Soviet invaders.

Wrong logical assumption. If Stalin stopped on river Bug and didn't advance in Europe then Hitler had all his europian conqueerings and still huge army.
Allies couldn't defeat Germans alone if not use nuclier bombardments. SO we would have nuclier bombardments in Europe in 1945-46.
It is alternative to Stalin advance. For Poland it is worse and worser. The question is what is worser.

Interesting place for this to happen.

In 1569 this city was used to opress Ukraine Lithuania and Belarus under the Polish king.
