I remember when Cindy Sheehan first became famous. I had a long talk with my somewhat lefty mother about it. Basically I told her this: if I were to ever join the military, or get drafted, and I get killed overseas, you absolutely are not permitted to behave this way. Ever. It doesn't matter if it was a good war, or a bad war. It doesn't matter who was president. You're not going there.

Well written- I'm not surprised about the facts mentioned in the article. I can't believe these racists ranters had 36 (count 'em) speakers over 6 hours- You got to hand it to W for sitting through these creepy speakers. The black leadership (not the black community) are simple leftists with a major inferiority complex- especially since hispanics are moving rapidly up the social ladder through hard work (certainly not government programs) and these so-called leaders have produced nothing in the past 20 years. Hopefully the black community will not continue to allow these idiots to say they're their "leaders".

Thanks for the order, my husband had asked that earlier this morning. Can you help me with this question? Did Carter shake hands with anyone when he declined to with President and Mrs. Bush? Thanks again.

I am so proud of President Bush and Laura, they are so good and strong and gracious, we are truly blessed.

yes..I do know...President Bush spoke first...then the reverand cheapshot guy, and I believe President Bush 41 spoke, then President Carter, and then the Clintons were on the podium at the same time.

What's really sad is that BJ Clinton had to remind his fellow dems that they were at a funeral. When he's the class act in your crowd, you know you're running with a rough crowd.

Attendance of Bush at this funeral was a political master stroke. He gave to microphone to the far left while shining the Presidential spotlight. The lasting immage is a Democrat Party dominated by extreme leftists.

Brilliant.

The one thing I liked that Bill Clinton said..was that he called President Bush ..HIS president...to the crowd.

I have a copy of the program. I'll send it if I can figure how to paste it!

Bill Clinton spoke with no notes, and very eloquently...but when Hillary spoke, she was somber reading from notes and did not show any passion and frankly she was boring.

Yesterday was a turning point for me. After growing up in the rural south and and accepting to plight of minorities and doing my part in seeing that everyone got fair treatment. After yesterday, I could care less. There is nothing left to be done. There has been a Hell of a lot of sacrifices that have been made in the name of equality and hardly any thanks for the contributions of others. Here we have the same tired faces making the same statements they did sixty years ago only now the rhetoric and reasoning is even more primitive and stupid. Screw them all!

You can bet that whoever developed the list of guests and speakers -- ostesibly King's family -- knew exactly what would occur there and condoned it. I suspect that Mrs. King, herself, would have condoned it. A Martin Luther King, she was not. HE would have been the one embarrassed by what occurred yesterday.

Yeah, a good chunk of it was a parade of political malcontents usurping what should have been a tribute to her for purposes of political gain.

I'm sure it didn't go unnoticed in the black community.

As well, all the dwelling in the past. It would have been nice to have gotten some black leaders (Watts, Thomas, Condi, black actors, etc., etc., etc., etc., ...) as a true TRIBUTE as to how far this nation has come since the days of the original King efforts!

Instead, NOOOOO, we get treated to how life's fair for everyone but black people. Sure. And the sun rises over the north pole. Black (leadership) just can't get it that life isn't perfect and its "imperfections" affect all of us. As well, if the black leadership wouldn't actively support all the things that hold their constituencies down, perhaps more would succeed. Hmmm! Can you say "conflict of interests."

After reading the article, maybe we should refer to Democrats as the party of the dead or maybe even dead rats.

I was unaware that Lester Maddox was Jimmy Carter's Lt. Governor in Georgia. But I believe around that time it was mandatory to be a member of the KKK to be an Atlanta Police force (circa 1960's).

Jimmy's ties to Lester Maddox is surprising, but for someone who gave an award to the terrorist head of Libya to attack the President of the United States shows how bad these days are in the Democratic Party.

Maybe the Democratic Party should try to get ex-KGB naturalized so they can be the future leaders of their party (as well as members of Al Qaida).

Somebody needs to buy a clue for Jimmah. You can only have peace if BOTH sides want it. The other side does not want peace, they want war. Either we capitulate or we fight back. Most Americans get this. That's why the left has repeatedly been on the losing side in elections. American women do not want to wear burqas and the good men and women of this country are willing to fight to see that this does not come to pass. I hope the left continues to go through this with their blinders intact. They won't win next time either.

They are not men, they are low-bred vermin and "Race Pimps". These people are more nasty than the Klan and you can rest assured the hatred runs deep. To hell with them and all that think like they do.

Explain to me again why President Bush should feel obliged to kowtow before the NAACP's annual convention?
