Very bizarre. I've been putting Splenda in my coffee for three years now and it never did any such thing.
They have some flavored, carbonated waters that are good. I believe these sweeteners aren't good for you...I've cut down so much over the years. It is an addiction, like everything else.
I would CYASH but then the OAND would YHAP and WDDK!!!
Although the evidence is considered "anecdotal," many more ailments are caused by aspartame. In my case I suffered from major pain in my joints that was diagnosed as arthritis. Some days I could barely walk or hold a pen to write. I was in my early 40s.
Then I came across a website that said aspartame could be responsible for such symptoms. My brain put two and two together when I realized that my pains had started after I began chewing a lot of sugar free gum.
I quite consuming all diet products. After six months the pain disappeared.
Ten years ago my Doctor told me not to drink diet drinks. He said they were worst than the sweetened drinks. It seems like the biggest contributor of money to the FDA are the drink companies. They do not have the guts to tell the truth to consomers!
I am not a bit afraid of aspartane. I use three packs of Equal or Nutra Taste at least once a day. I wish good health was as simple as avoiding Equal but it ain't. So I say....bottoms up! I love Equal!!!
I think that you might want to rinse your mug out between cups. *g*
Here in Texas, you can buy the Coca-colas made in Mexico at the grocery store. They, along with the other soda pops made in Mexico have sugar in them, instead of high fructose corn syrup. I buy the Mexican cokes, and the Dr. Peppers that are made with cane sugar (they have a clock on them with 10, 2, and 4) instead of just the words Dr. Pepper.
They taste so much better than the sodas with high fructose corn syrup in them.
I use Splenda. It is indistinguishable from sugar."
Really? It leaves a brown froth on the top of my coffee that looks like a head on beer.
It will only do that if you add it AFTER you have poured the tea/coffee. If you put it in before adding the hot liquid, it won't do it. I drink Tetley's tea and noticed it doing that when adding afterwards.
They do indeed. They sell Mexican cokes bottled with cane sugar in the stores around here (here being Texas).
both anecdotally and from reading I think there is certainly a basis to be concerned about consuming aspertame. Like most on FR i am not a chemist or researcher but I personally know people who had symptoms associated with diet cola and other first-hand stories that made me skeptical enough to read more.
This is a good example of what happens when most of an industry endorses a product and tries to keep the lid on any damaging research that may come out.
Bookmarked for later read......
Splenda is dangerous too. Research on the internet. Causes enlargement of the kidneys and shrinkage of the thymus gland
Fizzies were made with cyclamates, originally.
I look and fell alot better. Just drink alot of water.
Hmmmm ... lay person here but doesn't that last line about the aging process mean that most long-term effects are simply dismissed without a second thought? Holy long-acting substances, Batman, that can't be right!
I think its flavor is a little better than aspartame, but not much. The really good thing about Spelnda is that it readily dissolves in iced tea while the tea is brewing in a Mr. Coffee automatic iced tea maker, while, although the aspartame dissolves, its sweetness often doesn't seem to become apparent until the tea's sat around for a day or two.
