Yes, but I'm afraid it won't happen with the Good Friday Appeasement, appeassing the terrorist factions in the North has only polarized Northern Irish politics to the extremes, if they tried the Anglo-Irish Agreement of '85 again, it would consolidate the center.
Thanks for informing me about my own country's history.
I was, of course, referring to the IRA since the Treaty.
It seems to me that Ireland would be an easy place to put HUMINT into.
If we truely believe that AQ or subsidiaries are really there.
Easy to fit in.
Easier dialect to master etc.
Whats this joker a doctor of????
We got a sympathiser here. You're justifying modern day murder because of events, as you put it yourself, 400 years in the past.
Any man that puts his credentials after a comment has no balls, because they have to back up their vacuous statements with 'ha, look i must know more, i'm a doctor!'
Or shall I place my credentials after this comment to compare with yours?????????
This post is almost 2 months old. Talk about a delayed response!!!
Its not that the events happen '400 years in the past', its that they happened over the past 400 years. A big point that may be 'lost' on a 'humanist' such as yourself.
Irish liberty was going to happen either peacefully or by force. Unfortunately, the Brits decided it would need to happen by force.
As for having 'no balls' for using my 'credentials' as a doctor, that is quite laughable. Perhaps you haven't noticed that people here do not use their real name. Indeed, and this may come as a shock to you, but my name is not Joseph Warren and I am not a doctor.
Dr. Joseph Warren was an early leader of the American Revolution who was killed at Bunker Hill. I took his name as my screen name to honor his sacrifice to our country.
Then again, given that he also killed (and was killed) in an effort to throw off the shackles of British tyranny, I suppose you will consider him just another murderer as well.
Do feel free to present your 'credentials'. I'm sure they are fascinating!
Well you seem to have been checking up too, and I didnt know there was a time limit on reponses. I have noted it, and will make sure I only join a thread that is less than a day old.
In my ignorance, I have to say that the characters and heroes of the US War for Independence are lost on me. Its not somthing that is considered important on this side of the pond, but no doubt is historically crucial in the US. So fair one.
I would urge you not to jump to conclusions in my regards to this DR J (a basketballer right???? Joking mate), and no doubt from your point of view he was a good and brave chap. From my point of view, well I dont really have one, on this matter. Tyranny aand the like is a reletive term, and your independence was a small event in the greater scale of things. Reletively speaking of course...
I am more concerned with the reactions of some people in and around the threads on the murder of the British spy, who are well, considering the event as justice for past British actions. Thats semantics mate, nothing can justify murder or 'an eye for an eye'. The man no doubt has contributed to the peace in Northern Ireland, and so saved lives on both sides right? Murdering a man for saving lives is not justice.
