This boycott is as stupid, vindictive, and punitive as the pro-gay actions against the Boy Scouts. There are a lot of organizations with similar benefits. Why target Ford, a company in dire financial straits? Just more American jobs sent overseas.

We conservatives can sometimes be our own worst enemies.

Ford has shipped as many jobs overseas as anyone has. Toyota builds more cars in the US than it does in Japan plus they pay very well.

The old economic "truths" do not hold any more. I want to see the UAW become obsolete and disappear.

That said, the reason we do not suport FORD is the fact that it is union. The gay issue is just more s**t piled on.

Technically, the Ford is a Mazda.

The Fusion/Milan/Zephyr are all derived from the Mazda6 which was designed by Mazda (not Ford).

The 2.3 4cyl is a Mazda engineered engine. The 3.0 V6 is a Ford design, except Mazda "made changes" using their own engine programming and (I think) intake manifold designs.

I give Ford credit for not messing with the Miata. I own a '92 Miata, and a '93 Ford Ranger. Both have been excellent vehicles.

Unfortunately, it probably has a Ford head gasket. Been there, done that.

Having said that, after owning three Mazdas, I wish Mazda would try and reassure loyal owners that they are not Ford. Being Ford is nothing to celebrate to loyal import owners.

Which 2.3 are you referring to? The old ones, used from the 70s (Pinto) to the 90s, are bullet-proof, fantastic motors. The new 2.3 is a completely different beast. I think it's too early to tell on that one.

It's getting to the point where you can't buy anything anymore. There's a reason to boycott every company LOL.

Meanwhile the mindless twits likely have no problem supporting Christian hating Communist China by buying all the cheap products from there they can afford.

I'll boycott all Fords except the F150. Hey, I'm doing my part.

Why target Ford? AFA's boycotts are normally absolute miserable failures that they try to spin as successes. Now they can target a company they KNOW isn't doing well and then try to take credit for its slide. Naturally, Ford's decline has nothing to do with weak management and legacy costs. /sarc

I looked at AFA's evidence, and it sickens me to see how much they spin everything. Not to overlook things, but they say that Jaguar donated up to $1000 to gay rights causes on every new Jaguar sold. Of course AFA purposely blurs the fine print in the ad, but you can still read it. It reads that if when you buy it, you ask for a certain coupon and turn it in, Jaguar would make the donation. Up to $30k total. So you could buy a Jaguar and decide not to give the money to that cause. If 300 people turned in the coupon, Jag would then donate $100, not $1000. If 3000, it would be $10, not $1000.

That doesn't mean that the program is great or anything, but why must AFA spin everything and mask the actual details?
