Yes, Michael Eig is the grandson of Sam Eig.

I can tell you that I’ve known Michael J. Eig for several years both personally and professionally and he nor his wife Emily wouldn’t do anything to harm anyone, but especially children. They are just one of the residents being singled out and doing what’s in the best interest of everyone who lives in that neighborhood. The Duffy’s should have had this checked out with the realtor and Montgomery County. Obviously, the neighbors came to the Duffy’s and informed them of their concerns and the Duffy’s did nothing. They could and should have consulted with an attorney. Michael Eig is a well-known and respected attorney for children who have special learning needs (Learning Disabilities) and he has been since 1975. What type of people do you think you are going to get when you move to Chevy Case, MD? Personally, I have no problem with residents such as the Eig’s and thus I wouldn’t have a problem buying a home there. The rest of the residents on Thornapple Street I cannot speak for, but as for the Eig family I just did. It’s also called taking personal reasonability for yourself and your actions vs. blaming others. Finally, there’s always two sides to every situation. None of us who are not involved should not pass judgement.

Congratulations, you learned how to research Michael Eig! What you are saying about him is completely wrong.

DOesn't Chevy Chase have any say in this couple destroying his home? "I'm Chevy Chase, and they're not."

You certainly have the kind of obnoxious attitude that makes Chevy Chase the kind of community good Americans should avoid.
It’s always nice to see people with plenty of money and a huge sense of entitlement feel that they are just doing the right thing by driving people into bankruptcy over a zoning dispute.

What kind of people are they? What kind of people do you think own homes in Chevy Chase Maryland?

I assume you heard that Duffy tragedy this week - it makes me just as irrationally angry and childish as their opponents. I want to stuff manure in all their mailboxes.

I want to be a good Freeper, patriot etc., but I’m beginning to develop a sort of intense dislike for this country. It seems that all we hear about is unfairness and stupidity in the nation’s dealings with its citizenry by all of its public institutions.

No ~ need followup.
Given the crowd in that neighborhood it's not surprising the Duffy family ran into trouble. I'd pick a neighborhood full of Afghan warriors, African tribesmen, Somolian military officers, and assorted fellows picked off the farm in Pakistan, India, and other assorted places to ANY neighborhood in or near Chevy Chase, or even Montgomery County MD.
Gee whiz, I already live there ~ that nasty sounding place ~ and it's great. These guys don't go to court over trivia!

They are harming children. Geezuks ... I cringe when I hear an argument like you just made, Dear Lady. It starts out as a bad excuse and ends the same.
When I hear that kind of statement starting "I can tell you that I know so-and-so for so-many years and he is a good upstanding man who is kind to injured butterflies ..." in some municipal board meeting I know I can ignore the rest. The fat is on the fire and no meat to follow.

Tracked down the article. One of life’s terrors.

You’re not buying a house, you’re buying an address.
It would have been better if they had known ahead of time of these impediments, they could have gone the infill route.
