Their Custom. Seen it many times. As a matter of fact, the entire region shares the custom. Seen it in the Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Indian people. Often, the people displaying this behavior are related; uncles-nephews, cousins-cousins, fathers-sons, etc. It's only unusual to us.

50 caliber... reach out and touch someone.
God bless USMC sniper (RIP) Sgt Carlos Hathcock... a Marine sniper that did reach out and touch someone... to the tune of over 150+ confirmed kills, while serving his country in Viet Nam.

Words cannot adequately express the joy, the sadness, the anger, the respect for our allies and our fighting heroes and you that these photos and your words bring.
Dio? Thanks!

Who are those guys in the picture of the checkpoint in Samarra? Are those good guys or bad guys? I can't tell.

Great pics as usual. Your posts are so much better than the MSM. I don't know how you find all these pics, but I like 'em. Thanks!!

Every time I see pictures of the troops, the only thing that I notice are the knee and elbow pads. I know that they're not exactly a recent innovation, but I always wonder why it took us until after the Vietnam War to issue them as standard gear for infantry. It seems so obvious, I don't know why it wasn't adopted before.
To: Diver Dave
I just knew our local paper would be proud to print these pictures too, so I eagerly opened to the front page, then flipped to the editorials, but lo and behold-------NOTHING. I guess they are not proud that our troops, volunteers, have set 2 countries free of tyrants.
Thanks for posting the pictures Diogenesis. That poor rooster.
