"She's a freaking tool, who cares what she thinks."

She casts 1% of the votes in the Senate - if you add up all the fools there you have a large voting block.

Unless the Democrats in California decide to dump her, she's not a factor in any of my thoughts.

"He couldn't do squat about it because the law forbids him from challenging the legitimacy of the documents presented."

Hmm - does your State have a law that says that you MUST hire just anyone that shows up for a job ?

I don't know. I've avoided starting a business here in Idaho until I have a better handle on business practices and applicable state laws.

I realize it's a faint hope that this monstrosity will be defeated on the Senate floor, but are there any Senators that are going to at least attempt to filibuster this noxious legislation?

Yeah, and guess who's going be paying for their English classes? I believe it was sen Lamar Alexander that has inserted $500 of taxpayer money into one of the amendments to pay for those English classes.

"gerrymandered majority" meant as sarcastic descriptor....

Well, if you include Mexico, you're right!

This is the same Senator who is against the Second Amendment, yet refuses to give up her conceal-carry permit in the city of San Francisco.

Her credibility is zero.

I agree with your premise, you want to drive up the employers illegal costs, way over that for employing legals. But I do support a guest worker program, one that is far simpler than the current maze. Control the border first, then institute a guest worker program.
