INterestng tha a) Rush is having the Fair Tax as a topic on his show and b) Delay is going to work on behalf of the Fair Tax.

Something's up.

Has the admin discovered they need a popular issue?

Why does he wait until he's on his way out to feel 'liberated'? Are they all bought and paid for by some higher agenda? The Republicans should be liberated because they are the majority party.

That's the question I have... specifically what allows him to be "liberated" now? Or, specifically what prevented him from being "liberated" while in office???

That being said, I'm glad he's on Rush talking and backing tax reform.

What the White House and Republicans need to understand that if they pass Fair Tax first, they could then pass their guest worker program on illegal immigrants with little to no political fallout from the rank and file republican voters.

In other words, they can have their cake and eat it too.

I have been attacked over and over on FR for supporting this prescription initiative. Better to have a check up that detects diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, etc. before it leads to serious issues and/or hospitalization and amputation.

I am on Medicare. I take no medications at all. I signed up with Humana. They take $4.43 per month out of my social security check.

The plan is $250 deductible and I pay 25% of the RX cost after that.

Sounded perfectly fair to me. I have the right to change the plan if I wish. Signed up over the phone, it took about ten minutes and the card and the book came in the mail shortly thereafter.

Wonderful. Another Bushbot (Delaybot?) who thinks that massive increases in government spending is a conservative principle.

Thanks for that insight. You've convinced me I have to vote for Hillary. /sarc

Rush interviewing Tom DeLay. Tom says he is liberated and will now be able to devote full energies to working for tax reform, specifically the Fair Tax, and other worthy conservative goals. He's going to be a big help.

So, the democrats hounded him and denounced his every action and lied about him and figured out a way to get him to quit by suing him.

But, now DeLay gets to be a bigger pain in the ass for the democrats by working on very popular programs.

Thje only thing that could stand in DeLay's way is the republican congress.

DeLay evened a few scores this afternoon. He's going to have a good couple of days....till it all sinks in and he's no longer invited on all the shows.

I will pray for the man, he's a true patriot.

The "Fair Tax" treadmill. None of these tax changes will ever happen.

DeLay explained that he is liberated from the full-time campaigning he would have to do for the 50/50 chance of being re-elected to a back-bench position in the House. He said there was really no chance that he could return to a leadership position in the House, even if re-elected. So why not go private and use his influence as he sees fit to get the Republican agenda advanced. One thing that opened up to him this morning is an invitation to fly with Rush to St. Andrews to play golf, and talk public policy and politics.

If you're at the point that you're on Medicare and on no medication, you've done yourself well.

I send you my congratulations and keep up the good work! Speaking as a med student, I can assure you that it's a rare thing, indeed.

Tom said a special election would have had to be May 1 and there is not enough time to get it done.

Check Rush's transcript later or the Houston Chronicle story posted earlier in this thread.

If DeLay had resigned effective this week, Gov. Rick Perry could have called a special election for the next uniform election date, May 13. The next uniform election date is Nov. 7, though Perry could call an emergency special election before then.

I thought a special primary election was part of the grand plan to at least have a republican incumbent on Nov. ballot?
