Good call Old Friend.

I, like you, are getting worn out by these "nattering nabobs of negativism", "pusillanimous pussyfoots", and "hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history", posing as conservatives.

"Has the admin discovered they need a popular issue?"

Yup. And the cynic in my suspects that their devotion to the FairTax will last about as long as it takes for them to be re-elected. Campaign promises will quickly evaporate once they're safely riding the gravy train again.

Pardon the detour.......but here is another perspective on the Medicare Prescription Drug Plan. My mother is an office nurse for a family practioner....and she now spends her day on the phone, filling out paperwork, using the correct "buzz words" to get people the medicine they need. The private sector is much better equipped to handle this. Government has absolutely no business meddling in medical care.

You wrote nonsense and I called you on it.

You appoint yourself as judge, jury, and executioner; despite being brain-dead.

If you have anything at all intelligent to say, do so.

Otherwise, maintain your silence. Your idiocy is now apparent for all to "see".

I agree. Why didn't he work for this when he served in the Congress? It's like now that he is out of government he can start working for the common folks.

You guys are 90% of the way toward figuring out this scam - want a little push over the finish line?

The racket for the politicians, especially Republicans it seems, is to do the usual status quo crap while in office - backslap each other, spend like crazy, sell out to the lobbyists . . . in other words, be a sleaze and to hell with American principles.

Once they leave a few steps ahead of the prosecutor or undertaker, they can sign up with some lobbyist organization or cable-news company, collect a big fat salary for schmoozing, and rail against the crap they themselves were rolling in two weeks prior!

What a racket, eh? As long as nothing is fixed, these sleazeballs are guaranteed gigantic lobbyist money until they die! Why do something you promised to do when doing jacksquat is so much more lucrative?

Newt, Delay, Thompson, that boring yabbo Kasich on Fox who helped his buddy Condidit bury Chandra in the woods and then quit, the MSNBC twerp Scarborough who suspiciously scooted out of DC shortly after the dead girl was found in his office - the whole lot of 'em.

The pattern should be obvious to all, and Delay (Mr. Pork 2005) is simply the latest to board the payoff gravy train.

I'm just about to turn 69 and I know there are other freepers here who are on no meds either.

Perhaps it's all about being conservative...grin

Perhaps it also helps if you don't go to doctors. My mother hadn't been to a doctor for over 30 years and took no medication at all.

She now is on Aricept for Alzheimers and blood thinners after developing some blood clots.

Not bad for 86. She looks younger than a lot of people who are 60 years old and her hair is still mostly her natural color with a bit of grey.

Blessngs for your mom. I'd say she did pretty well for all these years.

For some reason, genetics I suppose, no one could ever guess my age.

I basically agree with you, except in the case of Newt. His Congress got welfare reform, an end to unfunded mandates, and a spending cut.

If only Delay had done one of those!

Thanks.

The main reason people get my age right is that they figure that I have to be this old to be this fat. LOL

Most people guess my age at 45, not 55. But there is always the SOB who guesses 65.

I am sorry, but Delay is a lazy ass if he decides that he will work hard on this only after he has virtually no power whatsoever in Congress. He is not only not leader, but he is a lame duck and won't get crap done.

I must say, this story makes me lose all respect I had for that man now that he feels "liberated" enough to work on something at the last second of his time in Congress.

He is just another politician.

He sat on his ass during that time when it came to getting the bill passed.

Delay can sit on a tack.
