I'm almost as tired of hearing that as I am of hearing that we're "anti-immigration." Notice how they always leave the "illegal" part out, as though all those people got here legally and just want to stay? Maybe I should stay away from the telly awhile until my blood pressure goes down!
Best news I've heard about the bill yet.
When do we march on Washington to get our country back?
"...citizenship rewards for the illegals already here."
It's all about vote farming.
Like it can't be addressed by enforcing existing law.
BTTT
"No Dem is going to fall for that."
I think your true colors are slipping out. Troll?
this is exactly why the Republicans must lead. There is a win win situation for the Republicans if they grab it. They can put the demonrats out of business for 40 years if the Republicans have the will.
Bump!
Most intelligent post I've read in weeks.
Heh, the Dems didn't want to give Bush any sort of victory, even if it meant that THEIR agenda was scuttled in the process.
No he's not - Santorum is. Specter was re-elected in 2004, unfortunately.
The Mexicans in Los Angeles will have go on singing "Weeee shallll over-runnnnnnnnnn!"
+++++++
If it wasn't so true, it would ROFLOLOLOL.
No kidding.
It's not "that we in all likelihood are not going to be able to address a problem that directly affects the American people." - it's that "we don't have the will to do the right thing to address a problem that directly affects the American people".
Bad news is that the House bill may also die as a result. Border Security is an issue once again left to the several States to handle.
Since it was the House Republicans that passed an anti-illegal immigration bill in December, those Republicans will be able to claim that they've done their bit. It's the Senate that will be in trouble come November if they can't get a border security bill done. I don't see where the Dems benefit from this at all, since most of them are for open borders and amnesty.
you missed my correction
Hopefully none of them will come back....but that is just too much to hope for....
I wish Gen. Tommy Franks (US Army Ret) would come forward...
and Gen. Hal Moore (US Army Ret) too....
I'm afraid that it will continue unabated.
The party is shot all to hell and the chicken will come home to roost by '08. I have lost all hope of putting "humpty" back together and there will be the usual defections and lost elections.
We've been here before and I hope we learn the lesson this time......But I doubt it...
We don't need another immigration law - unless it's one that will appropriate funds to build a border fence. IF we only enforce the ones already on the books, we'd be fine.
I wish we had a leader.
I hate to say this, but I miss Trent Lott.
Lott looks like He-man next to Frist.
