The hacks who profited from the Keyes campaign in IL financially are STILL THERE fleecing you.

Oh, my apologies. I was under the apparently mistaken impression that Alan Keyes had left the state as soon as the election was over. But obviously you're implying that he's still here, carrying on as he always does.

My mistake. Carry on.

(By the way, you didn't answer my very direct questions from the previous post. I think I get the idea, though--its always everyone else's fault when Keyes doesn't keep his own promises.)

I think you're probably correct for the most part. Although I do think having an "R" next to a disastrously inept, embarrassing statewide campaign inevitably results in some lasting damage to the party.

The thing that gets under my skin is when I hear people that constantly played up their role in the Keyes campaign at the time now blame everyone but the organization itself for its lasting failures. I had people in the Keyes campaign look me in the eye and tell me that the money and time people spent on that campaign was building a lasting organization for the state of Illinois, and not for the sake of vanity candidate. Quite simply, we were lied to.

And then to have those same people moralize about the state of Illinois politics *after* they've long ago packed up and left town leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

So what do you think of the 6th District race?

If you're as knowledable as you claim to be, you know exactly who I'm talking about, and it ain't Keyes.

So you're all about having a positive vision for what needs to be done in Illinois, huh?

Pumping out cesspools qualifies as 'a positive vision' if the thing is backing up all over the place.

Something wrong with your sniffer if you can't smell the stench.

The problem was overwhelming long before Alan Keyes arrived, and judging by your attitude, it's miles from being solved now.

If there is anyone who damaged the Il GOP it would be George Ryan.

As for the IL-06 race, despite how the media fawns over Duckworth, the House race is rated as a GOP lean. Roskam won 61% of the votes in the IL March primary even though he was uncontested whereas the RATS had a spirited primary battle. Still, Roskam is taking nothing for granted. I am going to walk the precincts this weekend for him. People who win elections are those who work the hardest. Something Alan Keyes don't do. Keyes spend his time making bomb throwing statements on talk radio interviews.

Whatever. The chip on your shoulder's obviously too big for me to assuage.

Have a nice life.

I did not vote for the bum when he ran the first time,

Is CBS slipping? they don't use the word "Republican" until the 7th paragraph. If he ever had lunch with Karl Rove, it would have led the story.

Didn't Ryan visit Cuba a few years back? I recall he wanted to get chummy with Castro & Co.
