This whole Transhumanist thing is just the latest attempt to satisfy the inescapable human longing for God, packaged for the materialist/atheist in the form of technological progress. “Since there is no God,” they say “We will create Him ourselves. By merging ourselves with godlike computers we shall transcend humanity and become as gods — omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, and immortal.”
No thanks, Dr, Kurzweil. Mankind has tried self-deification before, and we all know how badly that ended.
