The program isn't all that different from what I remember in grade school as far as drug education goes, as far as identifying drugs, what they can do to you, etc. What I object to is the training of children to be informants on their parents: if YOUR parents do any of this, please tell the nice policeman. Including drinking and smoking cigarettes. As soon as that program gears up at school, I can be sure of getting self-righteous lectures from my children about how bourbon and coke is a DRUG! and it is BAD! and I should not drink because it is a DRUG!
I followed that up with discussions about moderation, self-responsibility and political motivations gone horribly wrong.
So, it's not so bad that I pulled my kids, but it's not pleasant to live in a house with 5 little spy/narcs, either. I don't like the policy of using children as informants on their families. It reminds me of the Hitler Youth, you know? It feels like an invasion of privacy to me, seems to divide the children's loyalties, and causes them to view normal adult activities with suspicion. I don't like things that drive wedges between my children and I. Not one bit.
My kids were homeschooled up until a couple of years ago when their father and I divorced, so they are well prepared to defend themselves when it's necessary.
Maybe I'm just paranoid, but that post about the 'no guns' pledge just pulled all that up in my mind.
She might be a good woman.
No.
Far too much evidence of far too much variety from far too many reliable sources for that possibility.
Besides . . . just look at her eyes!
KEEP YOUR KID HOME SICK.
Oh, I agree with you. I was paraphrasing part of some lines that Doc Holliday says in Tombstone, after his companion says to him "Aren't I a good woman to you, Doc?". He replies "You might be a good woman," and adds, under his breath, "but then, you might be the Anti-Christ."
I don't think there's much room for doubt with regard to the Hildebeast.
My best advise would be what you are already considering.
Keep you child out of school that day. Exposing your child to Hillary Clinton would be like exposing him to bird flu.
Ahhhh
Thx
FREEP HER!
Stand outside with a "God Bless Queen Hillary!" sign. Or put on the devil costume and hold a "I sold my soul to Hillary" sign.
Keep the child home. There will be no learning going on that day, anyway. Always save the children.
In fact, try to start a school boycott for the day.
I would keep my child home. Notify the media on the issue of no parents allowed at the school. Then pitch a fit to the principle, teachers, school board with regard to the no parent rule. Raise a little hell.
Don't woory. Her thighs will not fit through the door!
At Q & A have the kid ask if she's spoken with Monica, Vince or Eleanor lately??????????????????????????
Or set up a BOOTH just off the school grounds that says:
Good idea.
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
UPDATE: Hillary came to the school. My son was not there.
I decided I wouldn't subject him to something that I would not willingly subject myself to.....
I feel good about the decision. I don't think the school should have brought Hillary -- as controversial as she is -- in as a celebrity (which they did). I don't appreciate teachers in authority drooling over Hillary Clinton in front of my son.
I told him that I don't respect Hillary Clinton and hope that she never reaches her goal of becoming President, because she lies, attacks people I respect, and is greedy. He doesn't understand why the other people (e.g., his teachers) like her.
I told him that they may not know the truth about her -- that they likely haven't read Barbara Olson's books.
Thanks for all the great ideas and advice. Next time -- if I have more notice --- and when my son is older --- I may come up with a more exciting plan.
Meanwhile, I'm certain that he didn't miss anything.
