1978 Ted and his drunken party get stuck on a sandbar off Woods Hole and call the CG to tow them off.
According to the dispataching Petty Officer the party was rude and lewd to the rescue party.
The next day that Petty Officer was transfered, probably to Alaska.

So he was on the straight and narrow for nearly 5 years there... until that little hammer did greater damage than expected.

I wonder when we'll stop caring about that sleazy family.

Every time I hear that the Kennedy's are Americans 'best and brightest' or 'American Royaly' something like this happens. ANyone else in DC, including Cynthia 'Punch' McKinney, would have their keister in the drunk tank at the jail. Maybe the DC cops have learned over the years it is less messy just to do the 'catch and release' thing with the Kennedys.

While watching a demonstration of Impact Gel, a shock-absorbing material, Kennedy takes one to the face when a hammer head flies off the handle and hits him in the mouth. He gets six stitches to his bottom lip at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket and cancels several public appearances...*Snicker*

I posted this on another thread, but it's appropriate here too.
"Hi, I'm Patrick Kennedy. I am a congresscritter from Rhode Island. I am very important. Yeah, I know, I got stopped after I crashed my car. Oh sure, they say I was drunk, But it's all good. You see, if I am on my way to my very important job of casting votes, it's ok for me to break the laws that I pass that y'all would get arrested for if YOU get caught. For instance, if you are driving while intoxicated - YOU get arrested! Or, if you are driving while under the influence of a prescription medication - YOU get arrested! I'm exempt because I'm important. You're not. Deal with it!"

When the "sleazy" family gets out of our face, with their vision for America.

Look, the guy has a substance abuse problem. So did Rush.
I wonder about those who wallow in someone else's misery.
Is this the DUmp?

Kennedy says he is guilty of cheating on his wife and in the mysterious disappearance of the Washington intern he was having an affair with. "Cheating on one's wife" should be an implicit data point for anyone saying "I do" to any Kennedy.
This guy's a real piece-of-[work]

Big difference between being addicted to prescription drugs due to on going pain, or due to botched surgery's, and going to the Hawks and Doves, for late night with the boys/girls and getting shit faced and crashing your car into a barrier at the capitol.
The real crime here was why was he given preferential treatment.

Is this the same Patrick Kennedy who recently told a Massachusetts Probate Court judge that he should be given control of his mother's finances because of *her* love of booze?
