Look, the guy has a substance abuse problem. So did Rush.

Major difference being if this was Rush MSM would be drooling all over it and we'd have updates day and night.

Apples and oranges.

Kennedy is an elected member of Congress with a responsibility to his constituents and has been involved in at least two accidents on public streets. He has also received obvious preferential treatment.

Rush is a private businessman whose illegal activities were resolved via due process. In fact Rush was probably specifically targeted for arrest and prosecution because of who he is.

Short and concise, good clarification.

It is legal for the police to stop and arrest Rush.

It is not legal for the police to stop or even question a member of Congress if he says he is on his way to or from a debate or a vote in Congress. It is all in Article I, Section 6 of the Constitution. Read it and weep.

That is the reason for the BS story about casting votes at 3:00 AM. Patches' lawyers have not doubt trained their client to say that whenever he is popped by the Police for a DWI.

Frankly, if it had not been for the impact, we probably would never have heard about this story. Without detaining or questioning a driver, it is impossible to determine that he is drunk, so no crime can be shown to have been committed.

Kennedy was no doubt drunk. The old "I'm not drunk officher, I'm on medications," ploy won't fool very many people.

Washington police must get used to handling drunks who are rich and powerful. Even in a drunken fog the lawyer in Kennedy kept him from taking a breathalyser test. In D.C. I'm pretty sure that taking the test is voluntary.

But let's be honest. Test or no test, any experienced cop knows when someone is drunk. Kennedy received special treatment and courtesies an ordinary person would not have received.

Is there any way to read Howie Carr's columns anymore ? The Boston Herald requires a paid subscription now, which sucks.

I can't believe this guy. I suppose what it really is is priviledge elevating itself to license. Does anyone think a person other that a Kennedy would get away with all of this?

How does this filty drunken animal keep his Congesssional seat? What is it with a constituency that is so queer to elect a Kennedy? Does this dipso dork remind anyone of Jack or Bobby? And, what is is with Jack or Bobby? If they were not assasinated they would not enjoy a great reputation today. They were martyred and have become bulletproof to criticism and by extension so has the rest of the the Kennedy family. But, blood will tell. None of the Kennedy's hold their licquor worth a damn. They are a disgrace to Irishman everywhere!

In 1991, William Kennedy Smith was charged with rape which occurred at the Kennedy residence in Palm Beach. PATRICK and TEDDY were at the residence at the same time. Kennedy Smith was acquitted. Roy Black represented him. Patty Baldwin was the victim. The residence was later sold by the Kennedys.
