Also from the article

......< "Once an illegal alien is apprehended, they can request counsel," he said. "We have to give their counsel the information about their apprehension, and that includes where they are apprehended, whether a Minuteman volunteer spotted them or a citizen."

Martinez said Mexico's official perception of the civilian groups is that they are vigilantes, a belief the Border Patrol hoped to allay by entering into the cooperative agreement>........

IT SEEMS BOTH TH US GOVERNMENT AND THE MEXICAN GOVERNMENT CONSIDERS THE'MINUTEMEN'...'VIGILANTES'.

This sickens me. Unfortunately, I have to go to work right now - but tonight when I get home - I will be emailing my representatives. The GOP has finally lost my support! I will be looking for other alternatives & they are not in the Democrat party either.

IT'S TIME FOR A REVOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!

From the current FR Poll.

A time for choosing: It appears that a significant number of our members are so disgusted with the GOP's failure to secure our borders against illegal aliens that they are willing to risk all by voting them out of office, even if it means Pelosi, Reid, Hillary, et al, are allowed to take charge. Is this the best course of action or should we be working harder than ever to hold the line and actually try to make a difference by getting more constitutionally-minded conservatives elected? Are you willing to give it all up or are you more determined than ever to keep the Marxists out of power?
1. Turn it over to the Rats?
2. Work harder to get conservatives elected?
Results.................
Composite Opinion
Work harder to get conservatives elected 79.5% 3,279
Turn it over to the Rats 20.5% 847
100.0% 4,126
Member Opinion
Work harder to get conservatives elected 84.7% 1,741
Turn it over to the Rats 15.3% 315
100.0% 2,056
Non-Member Opinion
Work harder to get conservatives elected 74.3% 1,538
Turn it over to the Rats 25.7% 532
100.0% 2,070

You know what? I believe that it is a "time of choosing" but option 3 is missing from this poll...

This is really unbelievable if accurate. Our own Border Patrol colluding with Mexican officials. They can dress it up as some sort of diplomatic manuever, but the net result, I imagine, is that more illegals get across the border.

[[This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type]]

Unless, of course, that lawlessness is committed by illegal aliens that are invading our country, stealing social services and laughing in our faces. More politically correct nonsense. American patriots are portrayed as the enemy and the law breaking illegals are portrayed as the victims.

"This ... simply makes two basic statements -- that we will not allow any lawlessness of any type, and that if an alien is encountered by a Minuteman or arrested by the Minuteman, then we will allow that government to interview the person."

That is just unbelievable. Has anyone been "interviewed" by Mexico yet?

When a Mexican citizen crosses into our land that is an issue for the US not Mexico!

This is an outrage that the United States government reports to a foreign nation the movements of United States citizens within the United States!

...migrants' rights are being observed.

Huh?

Let's just start giving rights to Al Qaeda members then too. In fact, let's just bring them over here, give them houses and jobs funded by taxpayers, and give them every chance to rehabilitate themselves and blend into the fabric of American life.

Hell, let's just set Saddam free and bring him here.

Anyone who works in Border control wants to keep his/her job! If the Minutemen succeed they get a reduction in force.
Same principle applies to health care or any bureaucratic endeavor. They want to magnify the need for whatever it is that they do.

[ Border Patrol is to notify the Mexican government as to the location of Minutemen and other civilian border patrol groups ]

Better to facilitate the flow of drugs across the border.. with the illegals.. Mexicos gov't is not a gov't but a Drug Cartel.. This paints ultimately the White House as an enabler..

Republicans were outraged by "Mena"(Drug dealing) with the Clintons but draw the line putting the drug dominos together with BUSH and his administration.. Democrats are quiet about it too but then the illegals WILL BE democrats and shouting about the drugs could stop the flow of illegals.. Wonder if George Bush and Bill Clinton play fussball in a remote location and the winner gets the proceeds from Mexico..

Most Republicans, even here on FR, seem to be oblivious.. Unless Bush is caught on a internet sex predator sting by cBS.. they don't care.. Teflon George will skate.. When Hillary wins the presidency in 2008 BUBBA will be BACK.. but the fussball game will still go on, no doubt..

And the RNC, The President and his cabinet just can't figure out his low poll numbers and why conservatives are not happy campers.

This belongs in the "WTF" category!

To: IrishMike; All

People, people--this is all just a big misunderstanding.
The function of the US Border Patrol is not necessarily to patrol our border and keep us safe from foreign invasion.
The BP's job is to expedite the introduction of as many Mexican "guest workers" into our country as possible . . .

.....Long awkward pause......

Let me rephrase that: Our mission program, as an imperative function, is to define territorial paradigms . . . blah blah blah blah

While Minuteman civilian patrols are keeping an eye out for illegal border crossers, the U.S. Border Patrol is keeping an eye out for Minutemen -- and telling the Mexican government where they are

If Minutemen start getting killed by drug runners, they certainly have a case that the federal government was partially at fault for supplying the information to a corrupt southern government.
