Okay, am I the only one who saw this and thought "auctions"?
He joined the ranks of the world's richest in 1990 when he allegedly used his close ties to the scandal-ridden government of president Carlos Salinas de Gortari to buy a controlling stake in Mexico's telephone company, Telmex, which has a virtual monopoly on fixed lines.
It sounds like he made his money through crooked political dealings. Kinda like the Kennedy's did.
He's a tapeworm.
Parasites don't give back; they take and eventually make you sick.
"Carlos Slim Helu" = George Soros in Spanish
Well durn, I own a tracfone, and I know he isn't getting rich off me. I buy 60 minutes every 3 month and don't use it but as a pager for the wifey to use to contact me (when I have the home phone line tied up). So for 20 bucks (80 a year) I have a pager/phone system, minutes if I need them, and 911 access when I travel. You just can't beat that.
And the poor provide all these things?!?!
This guy's a real genius. /s
Twenty-five lucky Mexican families along with their extended families living in the same household (limit of 51 people) have been selected by the new Fox TV "American Idyll" to participate in the ultimate reality show.
One participant from each of the families will compete for prizes to be awarded by President George Bush. Prizes include a job in Luby's kitchen, Othal Farms, or Rick Perry Landscapers. Fake but accurate social security cards, Tx Driver's Licenses, and democrat voter registration cards will also be awarded by Dan Rather and Mary Mapes, formerly of CBS News.
Participants begin their "American Dream" trek in Monterrey, Mexico, and conclude successfully at the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas.
Fox News drones and cameras hidden along the porous Rio Grande River between El Paso and Brownsville will monitor suspected entry points as potential undocumented workers avoid corrupt Mexican officials, National Guardsmen, U.S. Border Patrolmen, and the Minuteman vigilantes.
Contestants sighted breaking U.S. laws, other than entering the country illegally, like cutting down fences, stealing Ford pickups, urinating and excreting in Falcon Lake, marrying a "white" girl to gain citizenship, or otherwise just generally "messing with Texas" will be disqualified immediately, unless their immediate family calls 1 800 Si Se Puede for just $50 per call for a Get Out of Jail Free Lone Star Card.
100 million Mexicans will use their online computers and/or FOX TV channels 24/7 to monitor and report sightings of illegals attempting to cross into Texas by calling 1 800 La Migra for only 100 pesos per call, in an attempt to help their favorite illegal alien reach the Alamo in one piece. It is expected that Mexicans will report sightings of 1000s of their paisanos as they attempt to breech the candid camera. Each night Fox News' "America's Most Hunted" will air video of the contestants as they payoff crooked Mexican judiciales, sleep in scorpion infested dens in the tragic Rio Grande Valley safehouses, play "catch and release" with the border patrol, and pass out in the King Ranch cactus curtain.
Dehydrated contestants who succumb to the parched Texas sun on the King Ranch will not receive assistance unless the contestant's family calls 1 800 No Mas for just $20 per call. The unfortunate alien will be given one gallon of water, two Circle K tacos, and a compass, and then sent on his way.
Dept. of Homeland Security officials who requested anonimity believe that Mexicans will report everyone they view on the river cameras because they all look alike anyway.
Las Vegas Sportsbooks list Señor Espeedy Gonzalez as a 2 to 1 favorite to win, show, or place.
All 800 toll fees will be donated to Radio Free Mexico.

LOL! I'm not referring to you. Who do you think wants a cell phone but has no credit, no Id, etc????
Yea, I know that. Who do you think pays for all those fixed lines in Mexico?
