Heh.
I'm not surprised only one person on FR caught that. :)
I can't imagine there are too many DK fans here!
Just when I think I've heard it all . . .
Wow, I had no idea. Thanks, A.
Guaranteed that these people are all the children of the well-to-do. Otherwise slaving away foor a couple of days wouldn't be such "pleasure" for them. Bet they wouldn't think it was so cool if they had to do it to stay alive.
There is nowhere in the world like Havana. From the resplendent Spanish colonial architecture of the Old Town, to the spectacular dilapidation of Havana Centro, a city of stalwart survivors and masterful musicians rocks indefatigably to the syncopated beat of the rumba.
Bereft of the consumer-driven trappings of other less colourful metropolises, Havana remains characterful, safe, and packed with a plethora of interesting museums. For history buffs there's the living breathing essence of UNESCO-sponsered Havana Vieja; for beach bums there's the sun-splashed tranquility of Playas del Este... (emphasis mine)
I stand corrected by you and others. I envisioned squalor, grinding poverty and deplorable conditions of the commie utopia.
ROFL!!
If you need a laugh.
"brigadistas" = can't-be-fixed-stupid
"Instead they come to spend their vacations working in the countryside under a blazing sun, eating rice and beans and sharing a room without air-conditioning or toilet with seven others."
-The US should model a program after this idea to reduce the work load for illegals
They are doing work the Cubans refuse to do.
Socialism at work.
Hopefully the tourist workers will take advantage of the free health care.
Thanks for the ping P_Y!
LOLOL!
BTTT
Who the Hell is Che?
And why is he dead?
Why?
Shit, guess I missed that one.
"Who the Hell is Che?
And why is he dead?"
Nevermind Yank,I think I figured it out between this and the last post.
Run, run, before they catch up with us:
No, stop, SHOOT.
Sorry, I have been hanging out with a bunch of self serving/important yuppies for the past week. I arrived home here in the sticks last night and am still trying to rid myself of the stink -- and the foggy head.
Boy, I don't want to EVER go to town again (smile).
Really.
In the '70's and even now people had Che posters and T-shirts glorifying this priest killer. It certainly shows the priorities of the Left.
