Brady went to Hell, lookin' mighty cur'ous.
Devil said, "Where ya from?" "East St. Louis."
"Take off your coat an' step right this way,
'Cause I been expectin' you every day."

Fidelito es finito . . . and has been for some time. They've just got the remains on ice while they figure out the P.R.

All joking aside, with all the Cubans we have happily living in Florida, Cuba could be (should be?) a great 51st state of the Union.

Fidel has left the building. the bad news is that he had to meet his maker at the checkout desk.

Doesn't the Platt Amendment rule out taking Cuba into the Union?

How's that for an obscure question?

When will the shower-challenged on college campuses honor Fidel by wearing T-shirts ala Che?

If he is already dead, they are going to have to release it soon. He must be really getting stinky by now...

Two days ago he said Castro was recovering nicely and talking to much. Now he changes his mind and acts as if he never talked to him at all. What a bunch of losers these communists are.

Fidel is dead and about time to.

That would be a great idea. We could extend the lease at Guantanamo.

This is what this buffoon said on Aug. 6-- "This morning I learned that he's doing well, that he's already standing up out of bed, he's talking - more than he should, because he talks a lot," said Mr Chavez during a conversation with Bolivian President Evo Morales.

You don't formerly transfer power in a Communist dictatorship unless it is for good. Castro is either dead or being kept on life support until all the arrangements are made to consolidate power for Raul and make preparations for the day that the death is announced. The transfer announcement was just a way to slow transition out of the Fidel Castro era.

That is an absolutely obscure question. I have to admit that I don't know what it is. I could have googled it, though, and appeared a little bit smart. :>)

All bets are off about Cuba after Castro(s).

They are a natural extension of our own homeland (as is Canada and Mexico.)

I thought Cynthia McKinney was going to go take over....Not many J-E-W-S there, and she doesn't have to worry about pesky elections. And if a security guard bugs her, she can have him shot...

Gee, this situation with Castro reminds me of an old joke:

A man is house sitting for his brother -- feeding the cat, getting the mail, etc. The brother calls to check in. "I’m sorry," says the man, "but your cat's dead."

"What do you mean my cat's dead? How could you do this to me? You should have prepared me for the shock," says the man’s brother.

"How was I supposed to prepare you?" asks the man.

"Well," says the brother, "first you should have told me, the cat is on the roof, but don’t worry, we’re calling the fire department. Then the next time we talked you should have said, the fire department was doing everything it could and not to worry. Then the next time I called you can tell me that the cat had fallen, but not to worry -- the vet was doing everything she could to resuscitate him. Then, finally, you could have told me, the cat had died."

"Sorry, I should have thought first" said the man, who was quite embarrassed at this point.

"So anyway, how is Mom?"

"Um," says the man, "Mom's on the roof...."

I posted this a week or so ago on another thread. Castro's Death Pool is heating up - everybody search and find their earliest predictions of when his death would be announced - so you can submit it as an entry...

"Oh die already communist pig."

I don't want him to die....yet. I like the idea of a long, painful and humiliating terminal illness. Perhap something like the deaths of his heros Stalin and Lenin where as he becomes more and more feeble he becomes progressively marginalized and powerless as those around him transfer their fear of him to whoever will be succeeding him. When he has at last reached a pathetic state, powerless and helpless, then let his former high level slaves send him packing to the VIP line at the gates of hell.
