lol *bump*
there is always a bit of truth in humor,in this case more than a bit.......
Do you not understand that batteries have to be charged? They are only a storage of energy, not a source.
I cannot believe that you seriously believe taxes would go away if not for oil and gas.
I recently rented a new diesel VW Golf in Germany. 1.4 liter I believe, and with every bit of power and acceleration as a gasoline engined car....with just a bit of growling during excelleration. Top speed of 125 mph on the Autobahn too. With all the torque of a diesel (a very long power curve) it is extremely easy to drive in a stick-shift. If this is the kind of diesel car being made now, I'm all for it.
This is NOT your grandfather's underpowered diesel Volvo.
Just wait and see what Honda does with diesel. Good thing are to come!
If oil/gas taxes went away, I'm sure they would jack up property taxes, sales taxes, income taxes to make up for the shortfall, caesar(SIEZER)always finds a way to stay in business. And yet, as a republican, wouldn't it be nice to downsize government by having to buy a whole lot LESS gasoline, as thus pay less fuel taxes? That's just the idea I had 5 years ago : aerothrust on ground vehicles, esp semitrucks : reducing transportation energy levels down to the 10% - 20% range of what they are now. As to charging batteries, solar cell technology is becoming cost competitive, see powerchips.gi.
Yes, I've been wondering : what happened to Dr Mills? He's been real quiet these past 5 years. His hydrino-compound patent was denied in federal court on specious Bohr Radius grounds, big oil pulling the strings behind the curtain of course. As to roads, I'm hard at work doing my second design series of variations on the [aerosafe eagle] concept, look it up on the web. Combine that idea : rotors in a solid plate, with the draganflyer II RC helicopter, and with the V22 Osprey....and you'll get an idea of how we'll put more and more travelers in the AIR, ABOVE the crumbling roads.
