But I thought without lots of chaos it'll take a very long time for his precious "hidden imam" (peekaboo) to make a reappearance. :)
[Most Secret Hidden Protocol of 22 August Cabinet Meeting]
....Ahmadjihad - "And a final word my brothers, ALL communications to our mighty Islamic armed forces shall be made in pig latin to confuse the infidels!"
....General #1 - "Your Excellency, are not pigs and all pork products forbidden by Islamic law?"
....Ahmadjihad - "Indeed General, you are correct. In view of that fact, we shall use a similar dialect known to the infidels as KSM-latin to achieve the same results."
....General #2 - "Very good Your Excellency, the infidels will never be expecting our communications to be encrypted in Kerry-Sheehan-Murtha code!"
....Ahmadjihad - "It's the least I can do for all of their support!"
[Meeting adjourned at 0044 hours 22 August]

(The Shah doesn't look so bad now, eh? But nooo, Jimmah said the Ayatollah was a 'godly' man.)

LOL! -- you're quick.
The next problem (now that the glorious new dawn of Islam is at hand), is how to get that hidden 5-year-old mahdi out from under all those centuries of notes thrown in that well. That's a whole lot of pulp.

So *THIS* is what's supposed to happen on 8/22!

Impaling was a form of execution introduced to Europe by the Ottoman muzzies. Maybe it's time Europeans reintroduced it to Iran.

seizing one oil rig wouldn't be enough...closing the Straits of Hormuz, now that would get everybody's attention

I think the markets may have noticed. Globex futures are now red and they were green earlier. European markets are now also down when they were all positive earlier.

I think I'll go fill up my tank, LOL.

BTW, there is speculation that Irans known oil reserves were greatly overstated, and in fact, they are past peak production, and beginning to dry up. but if this were the case would not oil be over $100 already?

Yeah, this was just a little demonstration to give us the jitters.

I wonder if this attack is based on a border dispute. There are islands in the Persian Gulf that are claimed by the UAE and Iran, also Oman and Iran.
Could this act be Iran asserting its sovereignty over a disputed area?

Well, there was an armed oil rig in Diamonds are Forever. They had 20mm AA guns and stuff, and all the bad guys had 9mm submachine guns too.
Remember? That was the one with Jill St. John.

So, Iran's "END OF THE WORLD, RISE OF THE MAHDI" was to attack Romania?

Oh yes, James Bond and all the Bond girls. Those are some of my favorite movies.

There was an article here on FR last week regarding Romanian and Iraqi cooperation in getting Iraq's oil production and distribution back on line.
It would not surprise me if Iran decides to attack Iraq and this 'may' be a precursor. Iran and Iraq are enemies(at least the non Mookie Al-Sadr Iraqis). It would be in Iran's best interest not to have Iraqi or Romanian oil production competition.
The Iranians are up to no good uner the nut job and the mullahs pulling the strings. whether it happens today or six months from now, if the good Iranians don't take care of the problem within, we're going to have our hand forced.

Maybe this is their big Aug. 22nd event? Yup... their military conquered an unarmed oil rig.
