Unfortunantly, he trusted Saint Powell. He was cannonized by the left and was considered untouchable.

I sense that Armitage and Powell are staying quite, hoping the Drive By Media can spike this story over the next few days. I fully expect a new NYT "Secret Spy Program" revel on Friday to try and drive it off the radar screen.

Last night Armitage reportedly confirmed he was Novak and Woodward's source.

Armitage and Powell are now working as Foreign Policy Advisors for John McCain's 2008 Presidential campaign. That reminder elicits a major *TWITCH!!* from my nervous system.
ping to an accurate and scathing piece from the WSJ

I still want to know why David Corn and Michael Isikoff came out with this book
They are no fans of the President, Libby or Rove
Especially since Corn helped start this all

Dumb question alert!
Is this from the WSJ editorial page? (or is this just online?)
Thanks!

Unfortunately, the number and depth of America's enemies weren't revealed until 9/11.
Flushing all the anti-Bush, anti-American career government employees would have been impossible until they showed themselves. By that time...as with Powell and Armitage...their damage was done. Look at all the judges and CIA people who have survived since the Carter administration.

I note that as recently as today the N.Y. Times was still calling her covert!

This is a very good piece and if McCain had a shred of decency, he'd fire Armitage from his advisory team.
I'm having a memory lapse, but wasn't it Wilson who was fired by Kerry when it was learned that Wilson actually told congress in private that what the Brits told us about Saddam trying to purchase uranium from Niger was true, contrary to what Wilson was saying publicly?

I think the word "fired" is probably too strong. Wilson was allowed to quietly slip off the Kerry team without truth being explained as to why. Except for those plugged into the blogosphere of course.

I really like the last sentence of this article?
"Someday we hope Mr. Bush will tell us. Meantime, as he absorbs the partisan and ultimately trivial truth of this case, why shouldn't he pardon Mr. Libby and put the entire sorry saga to rest?"

If true, this is a terrible indictment of not only Armitage and Powell, the State Dept, the Bush State Dept, as well as Justice. Both acted for either external political gain or interests of internal infighting, to the detrement of the nation. If these actions involve criminality, I hope charges are pursued

Given Armitage/McCain liason. . .wondering what and when. . .McCain knew.
Totally pathetic such singularly self-serving, power-obsessed creeps, working on behalf of G.W.. A President who deserved so much better.

Better yet, stop sourcing unnamed sources Mr. Novak and Ms. Miller. Unsourced reporting is either a lie or a manipulation.

Evidently not, but I think it's because he is himself such a decent, honest man he could not have imagined the extent of the perfidy in this town or in his former officials. My gawd, if this were true, Bush would have no right to even visit the White House, nevermind being president.
