Yeah, especially the part where William Jefferson Clinton portrayed a President of the United States!
Shirley Douglas? Kiefer Sutherlands mother?
"Several scenes were cut or changed from the first part of a movie ABC has stressed is a dramatization and not a documentary."
I thought I heard Rush say that only one minute was deleted and some disclaimers added. Otherwise, the content was true to the version he received a couple weeks ago!
Nothing wrong with diversions ( I enjoy watching football)
but many people are so numbed by entertainment that they have
very little awareness of what's going on in the world - and
they don't want to know. With too many such citizens, our
democracy is at risk.
"You could watch both if you DVD'd the movie and watched the game since it was live. The movie could then be seen at your convenience. I'm sure many conservatives did just that and will do the same tonight."
That is 'zactly what I did.
...Course, after Cris Carter retired...so did I...as a SUPER fan. I'm just a regular fan that hopes they do well, now.
It was GREAT to see Tony D. and Jack Del Rio's (best MLB in all of football ;-) teams win their first games.
Go Vikes! - Go Former Vikes!
"Twice as many folks watched that stupid football game than the 9-11 show. This speaks volumes about what kind of people inhabit this nation these days."
One would suspect most of the football viewers were macho male, who don't need to be convinced to kick Osama's butt. If that forced the females to watch CBS or ABC on Osama, then all is not lost.
Put me in that category. I don't need to watch a docudrama on 9/11, my mind is already made up.
I think people should understand that difference. President Clinton seems to think that people are better off as ostraches. Nothing to see here, move on.
On another board I frequent, someone actually argued that point. Unbelieveable!
Maddie took her lumps last night and deserved every one. They whitewashed Clinton, but if you paid attention, you heard his name mentioned once in a while. There was one scene with Monica on TV in the background and a character...Burglar I think, says as Clinton's face appears on the TV, that they have to keep scandal at bay and that Clinton doesn't know how to handle terrorism. In toto, the film was terrific. Eyepopping, in fact.
The Path to 9/11 did not fail in the ratings due to the NFL game but instead failed because ABC caved to the Clinton Demands to to edit the documentary.
Near as I can tell they didn't and who would know before it aired anyway?
I think it was Manning v Manning that got the attention of a lot of people. I think there is the feeling that live sports are live sports -- you can Tivo a miniseries or wait for it to rerun.
(On a personal note, I always watch NFL games live -- it is the only way I can be sure my yelling at the TV influences the outcome).
Exactly. I'm a huge G-men fan. I already hate Clinton and the Islamo-fascists. Watched the game and DVR'ed the show.
The Path to 9/11 came in 3rd in the ratings after Manning v. Manning and The Simpson's and Family Guy. I suspect the majority of people were pissed at ABC and choose not to watch after the edits.
I must admit I watched the Manning Bowl. Had to really, brand new HD set.
DVD sales!
Payton doesn't do huddles, so knock off half of your half. ;-)
Why would you call those of us who watched the football game peckerheads? I don't believe a television "docudrama" from ABC is going to enlighten me. I believe down to my soul that the Clinton administration didn't have the guts to confront the terrorists, which just emboldened them. Besides, it is still clear in my brain what happened on 9/11, I saw the real thing, not the made for t.v. version. Personally, I can't watch all this political stuff all the time BECAUSE of the lies and twisting of the truth, it makes my brain hurt. And as another poster pointed out, you tivo it and watch it in its entirety.
9/11 never happened.
>>"You can take out some of the more dramatic details," Carson said, "but it is still utterly and completely false."
