Anyway - my rant (just posted into the ether over there):
I gotta part ways with Savage on the Steve Irwin issue.
The job he was doing in no way harmed animals, and was no more dangerous than driving to work & back each day on a busy highway (as most of us do). The whole "He had it coming to him" crap makes no sense to me.
Moreover, I read somewhere (can't find it now, natch) a quote from the cameraman who filmed this horrific scene that the stingray that killed Irwin was actually hidden in the sand (and stingrays are want to do), and Irwin never even saw it.
Even if that is not the case, Steve Irwin treated wild animals better than alot of people treat their own pets.

I part ways with Savage on several issues, N, but I'm not throwing him under any bus. I'm still an avid listener.
I never watched Irwin, and was sorry to hear of his death, but 'yer pays yer monies, and yer takes yer chances, in life'.

My 30 year old wife and two babies - aged 6mos and 1yr - were killed by a drunk driver 11 years ago, Sept 15th, in a head-on collision.
